We all aim to use those highly engaging, mega-clickable titles that will just POP up off the screen and demand our audience click through, right?
At least that's what we hope.
And sometimes, by simply adding the year to your title (especially at the start of the year) you actually will get a bump in clicks because your content now looks highly relevant and fresh compared to those titles, even from authority sites, that are now "dated" and looking old with the previous year attached to them.

And when January 1 of the new year comes around now what was once fresh and new is now the old man on the block. It's time to update those articles!
Let me show you what to keep in mind if you're using the year in a title, the bit of extra work it entails, and also where you don't want to add the year as well.
What do you think?
Are you someone who avoids adding the year altogether because you don't want all that extra work? Or are you someone who adds the year and can't wait to update? OR are you someone who just adds the year and then never goes back to update, leaving the poor post to archive away and gather dust never to be seen again in the abyss of the internet?
