How to Add Your Social Media Icons to Your Wordpress Website
It's time for your daily dose of Wordpress Wisdom! Today we take a look at how to share your social media icons on your Wordpress website. Now, it's important to remember there are 2 different paths you can take when it comes to social media icons on your site. One route is to use social media icons that take your audience to YOUR social media pages, and the other is to use social media icons that allow your audience to SHARE your post to THEIR social media.
In today's lesson I'm showing you how to place YOUR social media icons on your website since there's already a built-in block inside the block editor for exactly that.

Hi Eric, I am trying to edit my email link which someone has mentioned that it doesn't go to me but to my husbands email who owns the google account. when I tried to re add the email link - it won't open up and comes up saying "no transforms' what does this mean?
In the block editor, to create any email link all you need to do is type out the email, highlight that text, and then click the link button. It will automatically recognize it as an email text link and upon clicking it an email window will open 👍🏼
Hi Eric, I just did what you suggested but when I clicked the link it went to a gmail page where the email was coming from "my husbands account" which I not what I thought it would do.
Am I doing the right thing here?
Also months ago when i watched your initial video of these social icons, I placed the tabs in the post which I had comments on, it's called https://vintageclothesandaccessories.com/how-to-spot-authentic-vintage-clothing/
can you please test the email link on the top for me? I just don't know if it works properly, as I was told in a comment that it goes no-where?
thanks Helen.
Not sure what you mean by your husband’s account but yes the email works perfectly fine. You can see it for yourself by clicking the email text link 👍🏼
I would like to experience your class while I am in the future , Batman but didn’t anticipate some changes in our schedule. So, I don’t think I would experience you in the future Eric!
And I would be flying in a few days to be back to the normal time, giving up the futuristic state!
Cheers,
Maria 🌹
That's ok, Maria! That's what the replays are for! I hope you've had a fun time in the future!
Eric, I already know how to place my social media icons on my website. WordPress makes provision for that.
I am aware this is for newbies but could you go ahead and show me the two different paths to social media icons on a website as mentioned in your tutorial

Hi Eric,
I was able to add a button for Facebook. I put in my Facebook page. When I go to my post and click the icon, a different tab opens and it says, "This content isn't available right now. When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted." Then there is a button for "Go to News Feed." I click on that and it takes me to the News Feed for my business page. i am not sure what I've done in the set up of my Facebook page that doesn't allow to go straight through.
Do you have any idea what's up?
Scott
Sounds like you might want to adjust your privacy settings on Facebook. You can also try troubleshooting by opening an incognito window and then accessing the button. 👍🏼
Thanks Eric. I will check that out.
