Have You Ever Given Yourself a Huge Challenge for No Reason?
It's one thing to set a goal, but have you ever given yourself a huge challenge for pretty much no reason except wanting to see if you could do it?
For example, what if you challenged yourself to publish a post every single day this month for a total of 31 new articles to your website for the month of October, just to see if I could do it.
Imagine how much that would help your business months down the line...
With each new month add new goals for yourself.
Keep pushing forward.
Even if you fail, you fail forward.

I do, most of the time, but didn't see it from this perspective, or as a challenge. Maybe because most of us this end use the word 'challenge' to mean something entirely different than it is used in the English world. Here, challenge is similar to belittling, an insult.
I do publish 1 article or even 3 a day since 2020. But this post (which I first thought was a video until there was no video playing after clicking), inspires me to think of other challenges I could try out. Maybe schedule Pinterest posts for the next 10 days and watch?

Whatever it is you need to push yourself to complete, let that be the challenge you take on 👍🏼💯
Pushing myself to do something without a specific reason? That's just not who I am! 😂
This month, I am challenging myself to publish at least one YouTube video each week. While this may seem like a simple task for some, time management is my biggest hurdle as a mom to a very active toddler, lol.
However, I am determined to work harder and meet this challenge.
Here's to pushing forward.
One YouTube vid a week is a great challenge! YouTube is a great way to find your audience 💯
As a big guy, bending over to tie my shoes is a huge challenge. And if I fail, I do fall forward, or roll forward, however you may see it.

Hello Eric,
I have given myself goals, but not goals for no reason! There has to be a point of the goal, otherwise I don't see the point.
However, I have challenged myself to do certain tasks, which will hopefully result in something. If we are doing something like you suggested, publishing every day, that has to be good.
Have a great weekend.
Roy
It's important to push yourself past the point of comfort. Personal trainers and coaches do this for us all the time, but in online business we are our own accountability partner, so it's up to us to push ourselves way past what we "need" to accomplish so we can keep raising the bar and get the most out of ourselves. That's where the "no reason" challenges come into play. They may be purely to set the ceiling for what you can do so that next time you can push past it. Keep up the good work, Roy!
Hi Roy,
I never understood how to post daily unless it’s short 500-word micro-posts(I’m sure Google wouldn’t appreciate that). Even with using AI, I can’t see how anyone is posting “high-quality” articles every day. My process includes the main content, key takeaways, faq’s, internal/external linking, images and infographics, and schema code.
I choose systems over goals. These systems help me work steadily even when I’m uninspired. Just like playing guitar has been ingrained into my lifestyle, blogging has become the same way. Now, I’m working on incorporating a system for making YouTube videos.
It takes me about 3 hours total time from inception to publish. That’s for a 1200ish word article with TLDR section, FAQs, images, links, schema code, etc . 💯
Looking to publish two today. It’s totally doable, you just gotta get in your rhythm.
Totally agree with your response here Eric, but..... we can't push ourselves TOO much!!!
I've had colleagues and friends in the present and past that tried to do TOO much in a short amount of time and have burnt out because of this....
One guy actually died from overdoing it too much in a company I worked for a while back..... didn't know the lad well, but was still a sad day for us all....
Balance is essential in my opinion because of this... do as much as you can, obviously, but.... we aren't all Batman..... and aren't superheroes!!
Balance, balance and balance..... the three ingredients to a long and successful life!! :-)
Don’t take extreme cases of people burning literally working themselves to death as an excuse to coast.
Push yourself.
It’s how every single person who’s ever become successful has found that success 💯
I'm not talking extreme cases like that buddy..
Just saying it can happen...
I push myself every day as I expect you do as well!!!
Sone people can't ..... and when it results in death.....
I feel sorry... that's all...
lol that’s literally you using an extreme case as a bizarre example. Don’t worry. You’re not gonna affiliate market yourself to death. 🤣
That’s why they call you Batman. I will be concentrating more on YouTube going forward.
You'll get there man. It used to take me a full week to create a single post. That's exactly why we push ourselves so we can get past hurdles.👍🏼
That's a very good example, Eric, sometimes I think we need an accountability partner, as accountability is good! It's also incredibly easy to become sidetracked, when we work online, but we have to make that choice to keep pushing forward.
Have a great day, Eric and thank you for the post.
Roy
Good morning Steve,
I hope you're doing well and keeping busy.
It's interesting that you mention short posts, when I used to have my off-line business, some of my posts were extremely short, and yet, I was on page one of Google for many Google searches. Now, I do appreciate it depends on how flooded the particular niche is, but these short posts certainly worked for me.
I know that many of us have full-time jobs and families, so finding time to blog, etc can be difficult. I also know that there are people writing AI posts, which they keep telling me that they make it their own, even though I can clearly see it's AI!! I'm afraid that the majority of these posts, won't do very much! I think we are much better to write a genuine post, less frequently, rather than posting rubbish.
Over the past few months, I have heard how people are really getting fed up with AI slop, as it's just not real. I believe that you are in the guitar niche, so if you are reviewing a foot pedal, for sake of argument, people want to hear your genuine experience, not AI's experience!
I definitely think that you are on the right track, Steve, I think there is a balance with goals and systems, etc. But we all have different ways of operating, it's also important that we bring our own uniqueness to the table.
My apologies for the slightly long comment!
I wish you all the best and a great day.
Roy
You too Roy!
