One-week progress with Wealthy Affiliate

Yeah, the training that I have received is ridiculous. This far exceeds my expectations, for instance when they start out with level 1 of the “Online Entrepreneur Certification” they teach you all the basics there is to not only make money on the internet, but how important it is to figure out your niche.

Which, I think is a big problem with a lot of people when try to make money online, their only objective is to make money and they do not consider what they want to focus on. You must pick something that you actually want to write about, since the blog posts should be at minimum 1000 words each (or ideally once you have several posts written, 2500 words). Main reason being is because if you want your blog to get to the top of Google, the more words, the more potential for being ranked on the first page.

So, pick something that you can just type and type about without it feeling like work. The whole point of Wealthy Affiliate is to not only help you make money, but so you can do so sustainably for years to come without scamming random people on the internet. Please pick something that you can go all in and something you can see yourself doing. Otherwise, how else can you write 2000 word blog posts?

If you know what you want to do, you will be much more likely to succeed through the courses right here and eventually be able to make that sustainable $100-$1000/day income (depending on your financial goals). But with even a $100/day, you need to have a lot of people buying your products and people will only buy from someone they trust. The cover image above is the compound effect and the more work you put in, the bigger a single unit of work overtime will be. Meaning every word I post if it is worth a penny, will be a dime 6 months from now if I continue with this.

For example, you got two people, your best friend and some sleezy snake oil salesman, mid-30’s, black hair, blue mafia suit. Whose recommendation are you more likely to take to heart? Your best friend or the sleezy salesman? Please, if you want your blog to be successful for years to come, be a genuine person seeking to increase value in others’ lives.

Like my blog for example, my niche is into helping others be the best possible version of themselves. Why? Because currently (and this stat varies) 60-80% of individuals do not like their job. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Why is that happening? It is happening because we are stuck in this mentality that the work has to be hard and you have to suffer in order to achieve success.

That could not be any further from the truth, if you want to achieve success, you simply have to make a product or provide a good/service to others. And that does not have to involve mentally stressing yourself out day-in and day-out, pulling all-nighters just to work on something you hate. It involves PHYSICAL WORK, BUT NO ONE EVER SAID IT HAD TO BE MENTAL, DID THEY? Didn’t think so.

People are at their best when they are doing something they love. And when they are at their best, they are saying to themselves “Wow, I am so much more productive with this and I am making more money doing what I love.” Some people enjoy art, some want to act, some want to interact with others (negotiation and sales), for me I enjoy working with numbers.

I know that sounds nerdy but for me and I can’t explain it, but just crunching numbers on Excel 2016, whether it is statistics, accounting, reports, I just feel a sense of accomplishment from it. I also love exercising, eating healthy, reading books and just self-development. Those four things, I really want to emphasize that as well because if you want long-term success, you have to do some combination of those things I mentioned.

But first, what is your purpose in life? What gets you up in the morning? What is your ikigai? Your ikigai is Japanese for “reason for being.” To know what your ikigai is, it needs to satisfy four criteria:

  1. Am I pro at it?
  2. Am I passionate about it?
  3. Can I make money off of it?
  4. Does the world need it?

Like the blog right there, I can type about motivational stuff and how you can be an unstoppable force for hours on end (plus I can type an average of 70-80 WPM, which helps too). For now, I can not make money off of it, but if I really home in the training at Wealthy Affiliate and focus on this for long enough, I know I can achieve a website paying me $100/day, where I just write what I am passionate about.

I am a pro at motivating others because when you are doing Petroleum Engineering and running 100 miles a week, you need more than just raw intelligence, you need to stay constantly motivated to succeed. I am passionate about self-development and I believe with that job dissatisfaction statistic I gave, there will always be a need for this.

By being the best version of myself, I can help others be the best version of themselves and we can be each other’s’ motivation. So, figure out what is your purpose, look up on google “self-awareness questions,” spend some time figuring out who you are. And conquer your Mt. Everest.

Great post Eric. Keep up the great work.
Wishing you every success

You as well Jon!

Love the 4 questions to ask yourself.Great post I ennoyed reading it

Thank you for reading it. Yeah if you can find something that answers yes to all four of those questions, then there is your purpose in life.

Absolutely what I believe in.I have written a few books now..self published on how rewiring your brain from negative to positive thoughts.and actions can transform your life. That is also what my niche will be here at WA for my first website. I love helping folks become better versions of themselves.

Oh, that is awesome! Although you have written some books already on this, I think I should be learning from you, not the other way around.

Too kind but no lol we all learn from one another. Most of what I have written comes from many hard and some easy life lessons.I learned a long time ago who and what I didnt want to be.and hopefully have evolved from there. Lol

i love your four questions to ask to determine your ikigai. I enjoyed reading your post - thank you!

My pleasure.

Brilliant. Thank you. This is right up my street. Thank you again.

Oh yeah? Do you type posts similar to this one?

I mean the motivational side.

I read your profile looks good.I thought about becoming a life coach a few yrs back myself.May I ask was it hard to do ..Finding clients etc?

In the UK today you need to complete a course to get certificate.
When I started we did the training and you were good to go.

Finding clients, well there are a lot around. Getting paying clients depends on who your target is. Also how you want to help them.

I gotcha.
