It's Been a Long Time
Hello, everyone!
This year has been tough. On top of what we already know, there was so much going on in my life that I felt I needed a break from everything and everyone. So I decided to travel solo for the first time to reconnect with my inner self. It was something I really enjoyed and plan on doing again sometime in the future.
I should've brought my laptop along, but honestly, I don't think I would have posted anything anyway. I felt so frustrated, and I just needed some time alone to reflect and decide my next move.
Too Much to Handle
Currently, I have two blogs: one about travel and another one about the French language. "Why do you have two blogs?" you might ask. Well, I started my travel blog in November 2019 and was barely starting when COVID hit. I continued writing, but I must confess it was harder to do since no one was looking to travel during the first months of lockdown.
So I decided to create another blog based on another passion of mine: French. I started writing in May 2020 and joined a few affiliate programs.
I also created 2 YouTube channels, and so far, I have only posted 2 videos. It's a lot of work, and I'm barely learning all that editing stuff.
An Involuntary Hiatus
As I mentioned above, I didn't bring my laptop to my trip. I had planned to come back home in June, but then I fell sick and even had to undergo surgery. I stayed in the hospital for one week, but that was just the beginning. My recovery was slow and painful.
I was stuck in Mexico and my access to the internet was limited, so I couldn't work on my sites. Besides, I didn't feel like it, either.
After three long months, I was finally able to come back home.
A Big Surprise
Back from my trip, I was pleased to find out that my French blog has 5 posts on Google's first page. Honestly, I never imagined I could achieve that before the first year was over. But it happened.
Then I checked my travel site, and although it has been doing better than the first months, it's not what I expected. I have a couple of posts on Google page #1 and have been getting some organic comments and redirects from Pinterest, which gives me some hope.
Comparing my two sites, I have way more impressions and shares from my French blog, which is newer lol.
Now What?
It feels really good to be ranked on Google. I even received comments from the admins of two sites I reviewed.
The problem is there are no sales yet. At this point, I don't know what else to do.
I'm about to start a subscriber list on my travel site. I will give out an ebook in exchange for their emails.
Regarding guest posting, I only did it once, but I'm not sure about the result.
I'd like to concentrate on just one site, but I don't want to get rid of either of my two sites. It's hard to make a decision.
Wrap-up
It feels good to be back. I have to get used again to writing and everything it entails. It's just that managing two sites along with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest is too overwhelming. If only life were simpler lol...
Anyway, thanks for reading. I'll try to comment here now and then. Take care, everyone!

Welcome back, Enrique!
I'm glad you survived your troubles and are back refreshed!
Excellent achievements as well!
Jeff
So sorry Enrique about your experiences
You went through a lot.
However, both sites are doing well.
Well done and congratulations
I would still maintain both sites but concentrate on one more than the other
You could regularly write on one site but mildly write a blog weekly as a maintenance for the other site
Looking forward to hearing more about your progress.
Hi, Simone. I appreciate your comment.
I'd been thinking of hiring someone to manage one site, but I can't afford that just now. I will follow your suggestion.
Take care!

Congratulations Enrique for the gift of life! You had quite an ordeal struggling for your life but it's now over and you are back with us. We are glad about the outcome.
You have a couple of choices to make regarding your websites. You could outsource one of them but can you afford the monthly payments over the long term? The sites have not started making money yet. So it is 100% on you!
As a member suggested, you could manage both websites and focus on one more than the other. Write more contents for one than the other.
Finally, you could decide to sell it off. But websites are like babies to website creators. Nobody wants to see their baby!
Hey, Dada,
I deeply appreciate your comment. Yes, my life was at stake, but fortunately, I was able to make it.
Outsourcing is not an option for me at this moment. I might do it later on, but not just now.
I'll try to keep both sites, focusing on one and see how it works.
Thanks for commenting.
