What Wealthy Affiliate has done for me.
I just wanted to share something with this community about myself and why I really appreciate Wealthy Affiliate, what it can do for people, and what it has done for me.
Affiliate marketing has been an interest of mine for like 12 years and made very little money. A difficult barrier to success that I often faced was that I lived a very low fixed income, could not afford expensive product auto ships or memberships, could barely afford my internet and food (have had to choose lots of times) never mind autoresponders, web-hosting, and keyword research tools. Somewhat, I already knew how to get a blog into search engines, in theory, but the lack of a structured system with support to follow (that I could afford) made breaking through to a successful income simply beyond my reach.
I studied marketing, sales and copy writing, took a certification course in web design and optimization at Selkirk College, content marketing, email marketing, and inbound sales through HubSpot Academy. But I could never break through to success in the search engines. Lack of money and disappointment always got the better of me.
I don't want to live off a Canadian disability pension for the rest of my life. I want to support myself. Without a sense of being able to support myself, I lacked pride. Before the onset of my illness back in 2002, I used to be able to keep a job. Ever since then I would get fired every time for some reason or another... almost always due to a serious anxiety breakdown which caused absenteeism, I just could not handle the stress of pushing myself out the door and performing a job that stressed me out and kept me out of my safe place.
It's the training, community, and low overhead here that is keeping me going. I've always been passionate about helping people, I have the time to share my knowledge online, and I'm willing to get rich slowly. It gives me a sense of pride to watch my blog grow, and I know that I am on track to being able to live off the results of my work, which is all I ever wanted.
Sometimes I just need quiet and solitude, something I couldn't get at a job. I love that with blogging I can take time off when I need to disconnect and not talk to people. But usually I don't have to. Writing and commenting on blogs I don't find stressful.

Thank you. I certainly will, my success means so much to me. I want to help as many people as possible, especially people who are low income like me, it's what drives me. I'm afraid of the thought of living on a low income for the rest of my life, but I'm young enough yet that I don't feel too rushed, so I'm determined, yet not overly stressed. It's a good situation. I think if you can make that your niche website and find a way to monetize it. It will be a great success. And I am sure it will be inspiring.

I am a highly sensitive person. This means that I am highly sensitive to the world around me, I get over stimulated or stressed by the world. Sometimes the energy, the noise, the negativity overwhelms my senses and I just need some quiet time, or time out from the world.
So I completely understand about your anxieties, sometimes stressful jobs can be exhausting and cause illness.
Take care, and be mindful of how you are feeling. Take breaks and retreat when you need to. I sincerely hope that you now find the success from blogging that your skills deserve.
Thank you. Now that I've devoted myself to blogging, I'm getting pretty good at being managing my actions in regards to how I'm feeling. Sometimes I close myself in my room and read a book or turn the lights off and just rest my brain from the stress. Self care is key to coping... I've learned no matter how bad I feel, make myself a cup of hot tea, wash my face, have a shower, have a nap, and know troubles will take care of themselves.
I'm not making money at it yet, but like I said, I know for sure I'm on the right track. I already had most of the knowledge and skills, but having all the tools and systems in one affordable place is a HUGE relief, the training is filling in the blanks, as is the community assistance of a comment platform. Before when I owned blogs, I almost never got any comments. It's empowering to see people interact with my blogs, it makes me feel like I'm going somewhere, and because of my prior training, I KNOW I'm on the right track.
Success will come in time, I have no doubt, and I'm celebrating that I will be able to keep going until I get there, one day at a time.
yes that is the key, taking it one day at a time. yes it sounds like you had the knowledge and skills you just needed to connect with a network and get an affordable way to maintain blogging. I'm so pleased you found your way here.

Thank you, I try to stay positive, it's not always easy though, money troubles still haunt me, and it's hard to stay motivated. That's why I'm here though. Earning a future where money troubles no longer haunt me is incredibly important for me and my family, I absolutely have to keep going through the training, completing the tasks, and maintain momentum. Success is possible, inevitable if I can just stay out of my own way...
