From my childhood, I have always liked and enjoyed writing although I pursued a career that did not require much writing. I am glad to be on Wealthy Affiliate where I practice my liking to people's benefit as well as my own benefit. Today I thought I should just share a few tips on how to write in order to score more in your quest to produce quality content for visitors to you website.

Write with a hint of persuation.

What we mostly have to be doing apart from just ordinarily writing is to do so with a hint of persuation. Persuation has been defined as a process in which the communicator, you and I being the communicators from Wealthy Affiliate, seek to elicit a desired reesponse (Anderson1971). This has its own ethics though.

To be persuasive, one must be believable. To be believable we must be creible. To be credible, we must be truthful (Helmut Walters). No fake news as one of the contrbutors pointed out on his blog here.

Mind you, it is a well known fact that some people use the allure of persusive writing for manipulative purposes. As you can see from the quote by Helmut Walters above, which applies in business you and Iare not exempt from it since we are all in business. If you do not write credibly by using the power of your words to manipulate people to respond in a way you know is not in the best and real interest of your readers, you may end up losing credibility in the long term.

Persuasive but untruthful content may score you and I victory in the short term but it is what I may term hollow content. It most definitely is likely to bring one personal if not pubic shame in the longer term. One just has to write and show genuine persuasiveness by being honest with oneself and visitors to one's site.

The three elements to persuation.

These are the three elements of persuation for you to consider to be really effective as you write your content to help and to score more:

1. Logos

This concerns your appealing to your readers logic by:

  • Making clear strong statements.
  • Giving specific and relevant information.
  • Checking your facts before writing anything.
  • Giving reasons and evidence to back up statements.
  • Showing genuinely that you have taken into consideraion what others ay be thinking and feeling about a similar thing.
  • Making sure your writing prompts specific action without assuming that the presentation of your information

Claudia

Ooh my! How could I have missed ensuring all was captured?
Let me give them to you now just by here.
2.Pathos
This is concerned with appeal to the emotions. How do you do it?
Ensuring that your text looks good and invites people to read.
Making an effort to see that the language you use the is personal and address the reader directly.
Also addressing directly and specifically he stated needs of the visitors to your website being careful with your tone.
It is most ideal to just sound natural, writing in a way that connects with the reader just as you would converse.
3.ETHOS.
This reflects your credibility to the readers as the writer. How do you build credibility in the minds of your readers?
You do so by having a clear structure to your writing.
Succinct writing without spelling or grammatical errors both of which are adequately covered in the site content spelling, structure and grammar checker on WA.
