January Recap
Well, I've been a member of WA for a month now and it's been so worth it. Haven't made any money yet but very pleased not only with the training but with how enjoyable I'm finding my website to be. It's fun to feel like I'm creating something that might be of use in the world!
I'm not going to do this every month, but I'm feeling some lag set in. In the interests of not losing momentum, I've decided to write up how my goals went/what I want to accomplish next month (I'm a goal-setting fiend, I find the whole process invigorating ;) )
So my January recap is:
- website: Launched :D February Goals: Ranking, traffic, and affiliate links; set up newsletter
- posts: 4. February Goals: 20
- social: about 2800 new twitter followers, 6 facebook likes February Goals: 4k new twitter, 50+ facebook, and set up google plus
See? That totally worked. I'm now thoroughly motivated! All in all, it's been a slower process than I expected but I'm excited about the future. I've had to learn some hard lessons about focusing and perfectionism this month, but I feel like I'm headed in the right direction now.
It's a matter of keeping on, not giving up, and staying the course! And reading about people's sucesses and writing down goals and nerdy checklists and other such fun.
Thanks for listening. Goodnight everybody.

Looks good! It took be 7 months before I got my first sale! I think setting goals for everyone to see is a great strategy and would estuary encourage you to do it every month. Not only does it help keep you on track and accountable, but also serves as huge motivation for everyone else reading it.
Thanks Dustin! I might just do that. It certainly helps me not to procrastinate ;) I'm willing to work hard for as long as it takes to build a solid foundation for a sustainable future, but I recognize that in the months leading up to actual income generation I will at times be tempted to put things off or quit.
But building a business takes time, no matter what business you're getting into, and startups in many fields don't expect to turn a profit for some months, or in some cases even the first year. Why do we think affiliate marketing should be any different? Especially when many of us, and certainly myself, come into it with few resources and have to build everything from the ground up? It's a real business, not a get rich quick system, and it needs patience, dedication and plain hard work just like any other business.
An awesome journey but I can see already that it will patience and staying power. Good thing it's also fun! I really am enjoying creating my website, more so than I even expected.
A long reply lol, so I'll stop. Thanks for the encouragement Dustin. I'm off to reach some goals. Have a good weekend!

I'm definitely not worried about you! It seems like you have the right mindset which is the most important thing!
