HELP! SEO Snippet preview driving me mad!

Ok, so when I first started my site, the first thing I made was my front page. At the time, I didn't fully understand the importance of keywords and so my SEO snippet was rather simple.

Fast forward: Now, I fully understand my niche and what keywords to incorporate. So, I go back to my front page, and change my title and description to include my keywords. Hit Update....and it reverts back to the original basic one I used at the start. Try again and again...still no luck.

Decide to fully delete the page, rewrite, use the title and description I want, hit publish and it's fine. THEN I go to make it my static front page and it goes back AGAIN to the basic title and description I used at the start. Are these original edits I made now permanently linked to whatever I decide to use as a front page??

More importantly, is there any way I can change this?? It is literally driving me crazy! I've tried looking through WA to find an answer but still no luck.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Are you using the All in One SEO plugin or Yoast SEO plugin? If so, I'd suggest trying to make the changes you want in the plugin settings rather than directly on your page. Your manual changes may be getting overridden by the settings in the plugin.

OMG I don't know how to thank you, that was the exact issue!! I didn't even think to go via the plug in. You're an absolute star!!

Thank you so so much!!
