Online businesses generate traffic to their site through various marketing strategies. No matter the number of traffic, it boils down to what the visitors do on their site. Once you are having a lot of traffic to your site, your next strategy is to convert the traffic to sales.

Here's the thing about web traffic: if you own a shop on the high street, say, you wouldn't want every Tom , Dick and Harry coming in only to browse without buying anything, would you? You would rather only have customers coming in to buy something.
It is the same online. I would prefer to have one or two highly targeted 'buying' visitors instead of a thousand curious folk who only come because they saw an ad and have no intention to buy anything.
