Small Wins, Systems, and Momentum (A Quick Check-In)

I hadn't planned on any updates until the month had ended. But I wanted to share a few small but encouraging wins that popped up recently — the kind that quietly remind you that consistency really does compound, even when you’re still early in the journey.

A surprise Google Page 1 moment

In general, I haven't been keeping too close a watch on the analytics side of things so far. Just a quick glance at things to see if things seem to be on an upward trajectory.

So you can imagine my surprise when I looked a little closer at Search Console last night and, I noticed a keyword sitting on Page 1.

To be clear, my average positions in general are still lower — and that’s normal at this stage, I'm still building — but seeing a Page 1 result appear was a real reminder that progress is happening behind the scenes. If you’re new and wondering whether Google ever notices your work, this was proof (for me at least) that it does.

To add to that, when I was getting the screenshots for this update. I noticed that my WA post was also sitting on page one. Further proof that these posts ranks well.

The power of having a plan and sticking to it.

One thing I’m especially proud of right now is that February is almost entirely scheduled from a social content perspective. Posts planned, calendars mapped, and systems in place. Nothing fancy — just showing up consistently and removing as much friction as possible. The only spaces open are for posts not yet written and intentional spaces to repurpose posts that are performing well. It’s made a huge difference to my stress levels and focus.

Giving myself permission to think a little bigger.

I’d been watching Jay’s case study and really wanted to follow along, but hesitated because I didn’t want to pull attention away from my main site. After sitting with it for a bit, I realised there was a way to do both — without distraction — by being intentional about how and why I approached it.

I won’t go into detail here, but that realisation led to a new idea that actually supports my main project rather than competing with it. I’ll be writing a deeper post soon breaking down the thinking behind that decision and how I’m approaching it as a case study.

For now, this was just a reminder to myself (and maybe to someone else reading this):
Small wins matter, systems matter, and momentum is built one calm, consistent step at a time.

Anyone else had any surprise wins or realisations?
