And I Thought I Couldn't Write

I was out of town and away from my computer for the past week for a close friend's wedding, but before I left, I banged out a subject for a blog post and just left it up on the screen. The subject for the post was suggested by a colleague here at WA when they reviewed one of my posts and commented on it. I had never before tied the two together and it 'could' actually spawn a lot of new content in an area I hadn't thought of before. I just LOVE the whole exchanging of ideas that occurs here and people helping one another out.

Where To Begin?

When I started this whole journey on WA, I was searching for a way to earn some extra money, but I'm a realist, so when Kyle said in the training what you would be happy to earn and what you could put into your business, I was honest. I figured 2-3 hours a night at best, as I'm definitely NOT a writer. In fact, had you sat down and told me I'd have to write post-after-post-after-post about stuff (niche) I'm interested in, I'd likely have laughed and told you, "I think you have me mistaken for my wife". See, she's the English major and will critique and edit (when I say edit, think newspaper/magazine EDITOR) your work, but writing is my weakness.

There's one thing I have to tell you - If I put my mind to something and believe in it entirely and then add in an emotional response (that's a bit of a psychological term but in this case it just means "I can visualize it and FEEL it - I feel the excitement, the encouragement, the pride in doing something), then I'm going to do it. I made a promise to myself and because I posted it here on WA and talked about it, it means I have to do it, otherwise I'm letting myself down. I promised I was going to crank out an article every week or two on this site, so I better get to it.

First Day Back

Today's my first day back from my friends' wedding and I say my content idea on my computer. I had NOTHING other than a 1-sentence idea - nothing more. So I started writing and then researching, then loading up some of my graphics programs and created some visualizations, then wrote some more. In between taking my son and his friend to the local fair for a couple hours (and while they were on the rides, thinking of how I was going to work this new content idea), I banged out my latest post.

Imagine my surprise when I went to the Content Editor and saw a statistic that blew me away. I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad with sharing this, but rather I want to emphasize to everyone that I've made ZERO sales (as I have not linked anything on my site - I'm building top-quality content first), but I'm accomplishing my goals. The statistic that WA showed me was:

13,382 all-time words written. And more than 91% of WA members this month.

This is huge people! To me, it shows I'm pushing the envelope on content creation this month as I'm in the top 10% here on WA. I'm so over the top now tonight, that I don't know if I'm going to get any sleep (and this is coming from someone who's have VERY LITTLE sleep the past few nights and is jet-lagged).

If I can do it and I'm no writer and far from an English major, then you can do it! The site has the tools, including the spelling and grammatical checkers. With anything in life you get out what you put in and I'm "all in". If you see someone's site and you're reviewing a post and leaving a comment - PM them if you have some other ideas for them and they'll do the same in return. Such a great community we have here on WA and I'm so happy to be a part of it.
