The Blank Screen Phobia [ How to Conquer It ]

When Kyle and Carson teach us to produce content, it makes a lot of sense in our goals to become affiliate marketers. But... that blank screen is a bit daunting when you want to write a blog. ( I tend to freeze... and do endless chores to avoid it instead.)

At least my house is clean!

I call it blank screen phobia. If you want to earn money quickly you HAVE to produce content in some manner and blank screen phobia is a problem. To get the work done, I found a few things that have helped me.

I hope they will help you if you have the same issues!

Google Speech to Text

I noticed several members have used Google speech to text.or Google speech recognition as it is also called..or other similar programs.

This helped me triple my output. I just speak my thoughts to my phone which then records the text in google docs. It has errors - yes. And my headings are not perfect. I tell Google"new paragraph" for pretty much everything!!

My next step is to cut-and-paste my google doc messy text into the Wealthy Affiliate website site content documents and edit there as Site Content assists with images and grammar / spelling check!

Google doesn't always hear my words properly either, so there are some odd words that pop up. But I don't care. Neither should you.

The blank page is gone. So much easier to edit than start from scratch! If you want to format further, there is training from our community which actually I am using now I can use this useful tool better!

Get it in Playstore on your phones or download it free on your computer.

Canva

I heard about the Canva software through our Wealthy Affiliate community which is packed with inf and tips. I agree with those who suggested it. Firstly, it has a free option. I have now moved from free to paid because I found the online software useful.

By using Canva you can create original graphics, mini videos and gifs, e booklets, landing pages and social media posts...and they are all stored for you. Canva comes with loads of templates so you don't need to be an artist ...and helps you create your own digital brand kit! If you subscribe, you get a library of images to use too and more ability to resize images and organize your storage.

Set up Canva correctly and you can post your designs directly to your social media networks and their templates will help you get there faster. Plus...creating the graphics is a nice break from the writing!

An easy to learn and use tool you can get here. Let it work for you!

Yoast

I found it hard to keep up with the good sentence and paragraph structure and the number of keywords per post. Then someone in the Wealthy Affiliate community mentioned the Yoast plugin. I do like it because it highlights the problem areas in my write up to fix. I end up with a better post.

However, Yoast can slow down the load time of your blog so just beware. Part of the plugin has a "hide bloat" add-on which is important to use. The all in One Seo that comes with your Site Rubix websites in Wealthy Affiliate also helps you manage and track your site content from inside the back end of your website on Wordpress.

Helping You Grow - Training at Wealthy Affiliate

Of course, our Wealthy Affiliate experts can help add to this short blog about ways to help the newer members struggling to write.

But a big thanks in the meantime to the those who chose to blog and help us newer ones!

Kyle was discussing about producing content in one of his training sessions. A tip that worked for me was when he suggested getting your keywords and then writing several quick blogs all at once. This way you are not distracted by research or image sourcing.

Remember, the first draft does not need to be finished. That fact alone helped me produce more. Just cough up ideas on screen and clean up another day. (As I said, the editing for me is easier than the initial writing!) Just get the basic content in your Site content and then you can edit, grammar check, add photos later on. The few posts that you write together can be released over a period of time, giving you time to build them out.

Good luck. I hope the tips help you the way they helped me.

Thanks for this Elizabeth, creating a rough draft is something I learned a few years ago while writing fiction and it has dramatically increased my word count.
When I used to stop and correct my spelling, grammar, sentence structure, by the time I finished I'd forgotten what I was writing, had to read it all again, then I could continue.
It's so much better if you can turn your inner editor off till all your material is on the page.

Love your tip about Google Speech to Text, I'll definitely be trying it out.

I almost didn't read your post because of the spider! Glad I did, though. You gave some great tips!

Best wishes,
Karin 😁
