Busy is good!
Some people will argue that being "busy" is not good and that it is wasting life away. However the past 3 weeks at my full time job I have NOT been busy because it has been slow - I work with factories in China and they had their Chinese New Year lasting 3+ weeks. Even trying to fill in the time with my side hustle still wasn't enough (I didn't want to get into trouble by doing outside work).
I organized, I prepped, I helped others, I tried to do whatever I could, still there were days where I literally was watching the clock tick away as if my life was doing the same.
I realized that having this "down time" depleted my energy and I started looking at social media more which in turn put negativity in my mind - if you are in the US you know about the school shooting and the back and forth issues with the government and so on. I realized now that this spiraled into a very stressful 3 weeks as my mind was stuck in a funk of negativity or slowed down more that created more stress.
You see busy is good especially when it's doing something you love. I get up everyday knowing that my side hustle will always keep me busy now and when it becomes a full time business. And when it is your passion it consumes you and the time flies by but you are still living life because what you do...what you are destined to do...becomes your life.
There is a difference between busy and overwhelm. Overwhelm can backfire, can actually deter you from reaching your goals because there are too many steps to take. But a good way to go from overwhelm to busy is to break down these many steps into bite size achievable steps.
Tomorrow my day job will start picking up which will be good for my energy to be able to sustain focus on what I ultimately want to do in my life.
So next time you here someone say (or even yourself say) "I am busy" congratulate on that and be grateful that being busy means that you are living up to your potential in order to educate and help others live up to their potential.
Stay healthy,
Elizabeth

At 77 years of age I am so busy trying to do everything in life that I do not remember how I got everything done when I was working 14 years ago.
Keeping active keeps you alive longer.
My spurs are worn out.
