How to Post on Facebook Business

Lately, I've been diving all in on social media, more so Facebook and Pinterest. Today I want to talk to you...the one that is too socially shy to share and post, but first, here is some background about me.

When Facebook first hit the scene, I liked it, I thought it was fun. Then tragedy started happening in my life, and I turned 100% private. I became a hermit. Knowing this was unhealthy for my family and wanting to show my children how to stay solid in your faith and walk with your heads held high, I faced the public.

I still don't share too many personal events on my Fb profile. However, you have to show a little transparency in this industry to gain some trust, right? So the big question is, how do you post about your new online business on Facebook?

Now, Let's Talk About Facebook

I don't know about you, but I personally don't want to bombard all my friends and family with WA promotions no matter how excited I am about my new venture. And, at my age, it seems silly to try to make new acquaintances and connections with a new Facebook, at least I thought. Thankfully, I was wrong.

If posting to your Facebook profile makes you ill, then listen up. Create a Facebook business page today and allow yourself some time to get familiar.

Here are some quick tips:

  1. Add an @username. Don't settle with the default string of numbers.
  2. Once you find and decide on a name, try not to change it. FB shows transparency, so if you keep changing your @username, then it will seem like your business is unstable.
  3. If you don't have a concentrated content strategy (like photography, video creator, or eCommerce), then stick with the standard template.
  4. Show, hide and reorder the tabs on the left to give your visitors some direction. Once you build your followers, you can customize these tabs to represent your CTA's (like "Create

How To Post Content Prior to Building Up Your Blog

WA is full of blog posts from all of us. Search for quotes, motivation, success stories, or anything that interests you. Then use the affiliate link to share it with your new page. Share posts from other pages, humor works well but find humor topics that relate to your business. For example, there are a lot of funny entrepreneur jokes and quotes out there.

Also, get creative. Some of your affiliate partners allow you to create custom links. So go to their blogs and find something interesting, create an affiliate link to that blog and share it on your page. Even if your post isn't getting likes, it's still getting engagement and Fb will show you how many times your link was clicked.

Share from other social media platforms like Pinterest, Linkedin, Wordpress, and the web. Pinterest is an excellent source for traffic building, and there's so much content to choose from.

This tactic will build up your courage, content, and familiarity with your new Fb business page. Now, let's quickly cover how you can use this to build organic followers.

Build Organic Followers

Let's focus on free traffic while you are starting your business page. One way you can do this is by inviting people to like your page, but where do you begin? Start with your posts. If you get any likes on your post, that's engagement. See who liked it and invite them to like your page. FYI, it's a slow process, but it's a start.

So Remember

  1. Add a username and stick to it.
  2. It's okay to use a standard template
  3. Organize your tabs
  4. Share WA posts using your affiliate link
  5. Create custom links to share blogs from your affiliate partners
  6. Don't forget to share from other social platforms, and
  7. Invite post likers to like your page.

~All the best!

I've never had much success with FB. Jim

Sorry to hear that but it’s not uncommon. It doesn’t have a short learning curve and building it doesn’t happen over night but I get more engagement on my website now. More than before. I think it takes time to begin building credibility.

I worked hard on it for two years. I achieved.the same level in Pinterest, Instagram and Quora in a couple of months. These platforms have gone on to provide me with many thousands of followers.

Wow jkulk1 I'm sorry to hear that about Fb. I agree that Pinterest is much easier. I haven't been so lucky with IG but I'm also not consistent on that platform. Do you use Tailwind for Pinterest?

Great tips. Thank you:)

Your welcome. Hope it helps.

Thanks for the post, Melissa--it'll come in handy when I'm ready to do the facebook thing!
