Are You Taking The GDPR Seriously Enough?

How are taking the EU GDPR? Since its introduction, only two firms have been fined, Cambridge Analytical (fined 500,000 Euros) and now British Airways fined £183.5m, both for data breaches.

As small businesses, we need to take adequate care to ensure we do not breach GDPR regulations. Thankfully, we all have SSL protection here at WA, but whatever other protection we can put on our websites like Wordfence & Gravity Scan, we should go ahead and do that. Imagine hackers getting into our websites, and mis-using people's data etc. The breach can literally run us down. So take adequate care. Read more about BA fine here:

All the best always.

Lanu.

You are welcomed.

Hi Lana,

Because we are dealing with members from all over the world following the GDPR, it should be considered important to have the policy defined in our websites.

I do believe there is a plugin for this.

Just noticed RichBrennan has an article about it. On my way to check it out.

Thank you for the share,

Michael

Yes, there is a plugin for it. It's just that we want to limit the number of plugins to the very unavoidable ones.

A timely reminder about GDPR, Lanu.
It's not in the news much nowadays and there's many people here at Wealthy Affiliate - particularly newbies or those not living in an EU Country - who may not even be aware of it.
I wrote an article on the subject at around the time GDPR was becoming law and I did risk assessment form on a Excel spreadsheet.
If you or anyone else wants a copy I can send it via Private Message, as I can't attach it here.
Here's the article I wrote. Thanks for reminding us about GDPR - it's something we all need to be aware of if we have customers, etc, in the EU.
Cheers
Rich :-)

Even if we don't have customers in EU at present, we need to still be prepared. It is online business, and the world is our oyster. We should be prepared to do business anywhere in the world. Many thanks. I will expect the spreadsheet via PM.

The system won't let me attach the spreadsheet to the message, unfortunately.
I'll find a way around it and get back to you :-)
