The 99% Are Unknown

Let's be honest, most of us are unknown to each other and even less to the public we are targeting. What we are doing really boils down to a buzzword that is trending in the advertising world called "Influencer Marketing". Of course this is not a new concept. Humans are a social species, even though I have admitted that I don't feel comfortable around most people!

We have always based our decisions on the recommendations of people we trust whether that trust is organic or systematic (ie. immediate network vs. celebrity star system). Social media, blogging, niche website brands, this is all a variation of a systematic construct of trust building around a brand. But how does one start building a brand?

The Objective Is Obvious But It Can't Be

Again, let's be honest. Regardless of what altruist message someone may want to put forward, we are all here for the same reason; to better our existence. Whether you believe that this will be done by helping with your words, your energy a product or service, in the end we are all here to gain something of value, which falls into Maslow's hierarchy of needs. If you are not familiar with this, take a look at it on Wikipedia.

All this to say that, even though our objectives are obviously self centered, they have to be in line with those we attract. The relationship needs to be win-win. I know this is cliché, but the oldies are the best! I would even go as far as to say that it needs to be win-win-win-win-etc. It is impossible to have a lasting one sided win and it is very difficult to orchestrate a long-lasting, two-sided wins.

The Middle Man

The first addition to the win-win equation is the middle man. Every good relationship has one or multiple middle-men. The simplest example is the first level in Maslow's pyramid; basic needs. To put clothes on your back, you can work directly with a seamstress, but you need to source material. So even if you want to have the most rudimentary relationship, you need a third party. To put food on your table, you can grow or raise it, but you need earth, seeds, feed, etc.

In the case of brand building the relationship is between you, the influencer, and your audience. To make it work, though you need a platform, and in our communities case, that platform is Wealthy Affiliates, which I know we all appreciate Kyle and Carson's terrific work.

Getting Back To The Network

Obviously it takes more than just WA to build your brand, but the leverage obtained from this group is the secret to success. We all need to operate outside of the community using social media and digital advertising to drive new seekers to our niche offering but also to WA to grow the family.

The certification process covers the techniques very thoroughly, and it is essential to put in the time. It will never be wasted. The beauty of the internet is that everything remains, meaning that even if you give up for one month or one year, when you get back to it, you can pick up where you left off and most likely your equity will have matured. Because that is what it is, equity.


So go ahead and network, don't be shy!

  • Buy your real estate
  • Build your foundations
  • Invite people to visit
  • Travel to other people
  • Like, comment, share

Participate, and in time you will build brand value, you will find your audience and your audience will find you!
