Beating the odds with poetry.

Hello all my followers and readers who come to this page. There are times when it is necessary to step back, even if it is involuntary for self-care in many ways. This is the time of year when I finish my work at the University, and sometimes I come across some extras, unexpected but necessary and welcome. I was looking forward to coming back here with more work done this time. But for another good reason, a surgery I had scheduled for next year to correct a minor injury to my right knee was brought forward and would resume 6 months of extra care and pain, so I'm glad I got it sorted out and out of the way. I'm still on my last assignments at school, having to read and write a lot. Practicing :) but loving it and I'm feeling good.So today I didn't do my 5km walk like I usually do, and I'm getting ready to get knocked down for a while tomorrow. To relax my mind for a better and faster answer, I decided to write a little poem and I am sharing it with you all today. with lots of love and light! And here we are to remind you that we have to stop one day to "smell the roses"!

Freedom and beauty!

You don't look haughty, nor do you carry a brilliant spectrum of colors,

You don't seem to be exposed to the enchantment of many passing eyes

You're squeezed into a wall behind a bamboo fence

You don't have a badge, and many can't tell who you are

You can only see that you are standing, and it is for yourself.

You don't know what tomorrow will be if you are going to be standing, upright

I'll tell your secret like many dos, but you also know it is forever! We'll share it!

You grew from a cracked pot

You got through a rough winter, starting to sprout in a bag in a warehouse

You were sold like a cheap light bulb, just not to be wasted

And you were even given away as a gift to someone else who couldn't pay for yourself at a special sale price.

You have a trip like a second, or maybe third class.

You didn't have the thought of being a survivor

Because you knew your resilience, your strength and most of all

You did know that when spring came, you would fulfill your, perhaps only, purpose: to exude the most exquisite fragrance

And make people look up for something intoxicating from a first-floor balcony where you found the love and care you needed to bring out your highest. In return every morning when the balcony door is opened you

Invade the room for the two of you to embody each other essence to essence. How you were attracted to each other.

You two have always known that neither one nor the other would need anything more than your unique beauty to leave your souls alone, regardless of the rest of the world, in spring, for a second, every morning while the two of you are on your feet! You met simply through attraction, in essence!
