New Office Ideas
This is going to be a quick blog. I think I might have found some new office ideas so I can blog and work on my websites.
Let me explain what I'm trying to say. Today the weather is cold. In fact the last few months have been cold weather and our new apartment is VERY COLD.
My Previous Plan
In my bedroom, I set up an office area which I read is very helpful.
In my previous apartment my office space was the kitchen table so when my granddaughter got home from school she would also do her homework there. We would eat meals there, and the table also became command central for puzzles, board games, play dough, snacks time and get together. In other words, I had to share a lot. Now don't get me wrong I have no problem with sharing but I just needed a space to write and sometimes a quiet place.
When we were moving in I was planning a special spot just for my own writing area. I envisioned this to be a perfect solution!!
Now that the winter has set in I really can't use it because as you can see from the picture I placed it in front of the window. I wanted a thought-provoking view and a peaceful place to write.
New Idea
Today I bundled up and walked to the mall which is close to the apartment.
Inside the mall they have a sitting area which has outlets and tables. I was thinking that since this is a " work from anywhere" business that I could just bring my laptop here and work. When I need to stretch my legs I can just put my laptop in my backpack and walk around the mall.
Here is a picture of the wonderful set up that is here. I would only have to be using this for about 1 or 2 months.
Hey this is Texas where we were 70 degrees yesterday and in the 20 today so it may not be needed for long at all.
I don't want to take pictures of all the tables and chairs because there are many people in here. So I will tell you. There are 5 large tables and chairs on each side of the escalator plus 4 stuffed chairs with charging stations at them.
There is also an air hockey table in the grouping.
This may really work out great for the winter months!!
In Conclusion
I have made many new discoveries. My previous apartment I had an "office" that was in the center of everyone else and that needed to change.
In my new place I set aside a special place for an office but it wasn't beneficial in the winter months. But I didn't give up and found a solution. WA is truly a "work from anywhere" business so I will take that motto to the mall.
The mall has:
*Tables and Chairs
*Exercise Area
*Charging Stations
*Other People
Who knows people may start asking what I'm doing and maybe I can get referrals!

I like the way you think. I have been needing to get into a routine and maybe this will also help with that. Now I will have to (choose to) get up and walk to the mall so I can spend the day. No more "excuses" after this load of laundry!!!

What a great idea! I can understand how the weather can make it difficult to want to be near a window to work. I used to live somewhere that the upstairs bedroom had this huge walkout balcony and sliding door window. It was pretty when I first looked at it. But, when I moved in and set my computer up, the winter came in that window and I found out the insulation just wasn't there at all. So, my whole idea for having my computer there was shot.
That is really a great idea to take it to the mall and work in a comfortable setting! Goodonya!

When we toured the place and even moved in in October it was still somewhat warm so I didn't notice the temperature change until recently.
I tried the kitchen table since it's just my son and I now but it's just too cold even in the dining room.
I think the mall is really going to be a great idea!!!

Great office sure will keep the stack of “stuff” in check. I may have to rethink my office space except it is 20 miles to nearest mall. Won’t be walking there.
Maybe I can do something similar at the public library. Might help me eliminate the collection of “stuff” ... mail, books to read, articles printed off ( most never read) and such.
Will let you know if I figure out how to come up a new office location.

I didn't know the mall was stocked like it was until yesterday so that will be my new office!! I'm really stoked because many people had said local coffee shops or library but they are further away than the mall.

Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog. Actually I am here now and it is a great location. The only thing is that my laptop won't connect to the internet yet. Once I get that corrected it will be all good. I brought plenty of snacks and my lunch so I won't have to stop for lunch and breaks.(no excuses to quit working!!) There is a bathroom upstairs and walking area everywhere!
