Life Lessons from a minibus(or rather the moron that was driving)
About a month and a half ago, just after joining WA, the most crazy (and painful) thing happened to me. I got home after work, and parked in my driveway, waiting for the gate to open when all of a sudden BAM!... I experienced an extraordinary feeling of weightlessness for a fleeting moment... until my head hit a concrete fence post and I blacked out.
When I woke up a couple days later in hospital, I found out that I'd been hit by a minibus... IN MY DRIVEWAY (i mean really what are the odds of that happening)... broken radius, cracked femur, dislocated shoulder, 4 broken ribs and a massive concussion all because of a drunken idiot, who is actually supposed to be responsible for public transport. (sorry this is turning into a bit of a rant)
Anyhow this caused me to evaluate my life and reach a couple of conclusions... not mindbogglingly profound, just ordinary conclusions which are often overlooked.
Negatives
- life is really really short, theres a lot that you can achieve in this short lifetime, but you gotta keep in mind that your bucket can kicked over at any point in time
- you can prepare and plan for every contingency you can think of, but there's always something out there that can and will derail you
- people always think to themselves that " if something were to happen to me i'd bounce back right away"... here's the thing, until you're truly tested, you have no idea how you'll react
Positives
- in this short life the amount of joys that you are capable of experiencing are virtually endless
- in life, no matter the problem or situation, theres always a way out, NEVER give up hope
- for every dipstick individual out there, there are plenty more people that will encourage and support you (Just look at the awesome people on WA xD)
- the universe never tests you beyond what you are capable of handling
- every individual has a spark of awesomeness within, no matter how down, or insignificant you may may feel, you have the ability to accomplish monumental achievements
- you've got to believe in yourself, you are awesome beyond your wildest dreams
So this is my first ever blog post. Its not much, but hey, everyone's gotta start somewhere. I pray that all you guys stay safe and find the success you seek, and that it provides you with contentment and peace..
