Become A Better Writer!

Last Update: January 07, 2020

It Starts with Content!

There are many writers producing content for publications that need to meet a deadline. Authors, Speech writers, Politicians, Publishers, Columnist, scripts for Television shows, Professors, Students to name a few.

Many employees work diligently and very hard for companies that have to reach error free copy everyday with deadlines. There are people who want perfect grammar with everyday items such as emails, writing memos or communicating on social media etc.

English as a second language individual could also use tools to make it easier and possibly faster to reach the level where they become comfortable with English.

When you are creating copy as fast as you can race to keep up with the thoughts in your mind, the last thing you need is a distraction for Grammar, Spelling, Style or Punctuation. At job interviews, meeting new people or doing a presentation at a conference, first impressions are most important! The completed document with its supporting cast of Grammar, Spelling, Style, and Punctuation will provide the good/not so good first impression.

The quality of printed copy today in newspapers, magazines & books leaves much to be desired, particularly when it can so easily be rectified.

Corrective Solutions!

There are many solutions that are available and one is classes such as a school teaching English. Also, there are many books on the subjectavailable that you can find with a Google search or by using whatever Browser that you use.

The problem is that both of these solutions take a lot of time that doesn’t help when you are up against a deadline or you want to learn it faster.

Enter the Electronic Age of Software!

Because we are in the age of instant gratification, we want and in cases need the flawless copy for our presentation now! Software is the best solution that is available today.

It comes in many forms from a number of different companies. Most of the software solutions require an internet connection because of the large capacity of data that is used for all the functions that need to be examined for errors.

Types of Corrections.

The errors that the software will highlight for your correction: it will make sure your subject and verbs agree, Words that sound the same but are spelled differently, Contractions, Adjectives & Adverbs, as well as Grammar, Spelling, Style and Punctuation.

Software should consist of writing tools, such as a dictionary, a thesaurus and ready-made templates. The software solutions will not correct errors made on purpose nor extreme spelling mistakes, nonsensical semantics (The apple ate the fly.), abnormal grammar and sentence structures (Thinking I mind am gone hill walk.).

The errors found and corrected help you grow as a writer. When errors are corrected a few times you will find yourself not making those mistakes again. As you are improving, your style tends to change bringing new ideas and improvements to the quality of your English writing.

Making Corrections.

You can correct as you are typing, with the software stopping and presenting each error for correction where it occurs. The other method is to type to the end of the content that you are working on. Push a button and you will be in the edit mode with the errors presented to you one at a time until the end of the content.

The latter method allows you to enter the complete thread of content without breaking your thoughts until you get to the end. This can be a very good tool to the person learning or using English as a second language as well as any person on a deadline.

It Can Save You Time!

Whether you are; making money writing online, want to make writing blogs, want to produce perfect English grammar, writing homework or working against a deadline, it saves you time. That is because it is making corrections to spelling, grammatical errors, punctuation for your perusal during or after so that you have a finished document.

        Howdy doodle,
If this was my blog for a post on website, I would paraphrase the whole thing and expand adding a numbered list, more bullets, internal link external link and a short video maybe a screencast of how to use a special feature, tagging in Wordpress as a resource. Also look into pain point of plagiarism, the cost of fines or burnt reputation. This is just with a quick look, but you will want to write over 2000 words and potentially a guest blog or something compelling like a ghost writer character. Some logo or ongoing case studies.
I'm looking into a little more information for you that may be of value for subscribers. You could do a blogging contest to do that. I hope you enjoy, thank you for sending me a PM:)
        Kind Regards,

I appreciate your thoughts but I want to go on with positive other subjects which play a part in Writing, not necessarily in this order: Styles, Strategies, Skills, Techniques, Topics, Tips, Tools, Pen Names, vs Typing, Speaking to typing, Vocabulary, Websites, Workshops, without tears, holiday cards, Your own Bio, Your own Obit, Zone, Zeta, Exercises, groups, Letters, Lyrics, Memes, Mechanics, Majors, Notebook, Prompts, Quill, Reddit and some others that i will research. I want to saturate the marketplace with reasonable blurbs all about writing, because it was my weakest subject throughout all schooling. I loved numbers because they were exact in what they meant. I wanted to be a lawyer when I was younger but knew that that was not in my best interest because of my English history. Now I have a chance to correct that in a small way and allow others to do so and make a little money at it.Thank you again.
        Kind Regards,
        Edward

        Thank You, Sir
I enjoyed reading your post on White Smoke, I have been using Grammarly forever so I was not even aware of this tool.

You might be surprised to know many of the most famous authors are using grammar/spelling tools such as these, so don't hesitate to start using whichever of these tools you like the best and make writing quicker and easier on yourself

I know that Grammarly is the "Elephant in the room" and we using it with WA & WP. Since I was new and had no traffic I started researching the other competitors. I liked that they were endorsed by Forbes Mag and saw them as a credible competitor but was fighting the elephant. My past experience was David fighting Goliath when I was in sales. With no traffic I knew that low hanging fruit would have to be the answer. Never one to walk away from a challenge that is why am where I am. Thanks so much for reading it.

WhiteSmoke sounds like a good tool.

I am fortunate in that I'm a fairly good writer. I use grammar checks, but for the most part can write something with few errors.

I agree that it is a good idea to write the whole article first. Don't lose your train of thought. Once you have it done, then edit; look for any errors. Much more efficient.

        Hello, Mr. Edward, Sir!

I've never heard of WhiteSmoke! Thank you for your raving review of it! I like that it has the support of Forbes!

As someone who has a degree in English, I find that Grammarly works just fine for me. However, it's been both a blessing and a curse - my background. It's difficult for me to 'let things slide' in my writing (and in others).

With all of the tools available for us, there is no reason for an abundance of errors. Would you agree?

You've given me something to think about as well as an insight into your creative writing! Many thanks!

Congratulations on writing a great 1st WA blog!! You have a reader in me!

        Hugs!

        Hi Edward.
Thank you for this very enjoyable and interesting read.
I think the way you write is determined by what purpose you are writing for.
For example if you were writing for a publication then writing formally with correct grammar is very important.
However for writing online I tend to favour a more conversational style of writing with less focus on grammar and more focus on being engaging.

        All the best
        Dave

With WA and WP you are presently using Grammarly which is automatically supplied. I am trying to direct traffic from the type of business that I listed early in the Post. Thank you for the feed back.
