Ooh - Look, a Squirrel!

So I've been down a few rabbit holes lately, and up a few trees, too.

I invite someone to my blog, they give me some advice, and I diligently attempt to take it. The trouble is that their advice invariably has me trying to interact with Wordpress in ways that seriously tax my limited training. I've spent weeks in this manner.

"No mas!" I told myself today. I will diligently follow through with the Certification Training before I solicit advice from other sources. To help myself stay on track I took a list at all the topics ahead of me in the certification course.

I realize now that the course is very comprehensive and covers many of the things I've been running around trying to do on my own.

That's my "sharing is caring" shout out to my fellow WA members today. I hope this perspective helps you, and if it doesn't then at least you can say to yourself, "Well, I'm not THAT silly!"

All the best,

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth, I know just what you mean. I haven't done the Certification Course, I followed the Bootcamp instead. Xx

Hmm...

Well, I can see that the bootcamp offers great things. I will go through it eventually.

I didn't do the bootcamp for 2 reasons.

1. I am a veteran. I've been to bootcamp before!

2. It seemed to be about building a site to promote WA, and I didn't believe I should be doing that until I actually started earning a reasonable amount of money from my efforts here.

I will take a hard look at the lessons in the bootcamp eventually. I can see they have value.

All the best,

E. Conley

It is really good and a lot of it is for WA but you can use it for other things as well. Xx

I can understand where you are coming from. I actually have been learning HTML coding so I can manipulate word press easier.

I think that's admirable. I can see why. I really don't think Word press is for neophytes anymore. If I don't go in the same direction I will probably have to hire someone to bail me out from time to time. That will stick in my craw.

Right now I think I should diligently wade through the training here, learning all I can. I can see now, hindsight being 20/20, that many of the tasks I distracted myself with will be covered in future lessons.

What resources are you using to learn HTML coding? WHEN I'M DONE with the Certification, I may be interested!

This is a free site that is great at teaching html. After every lesson you get exercises to try yourself. There is also training on CSS, Java, PHP, and more:

https://www.w3schools.com/html/

I am not affiliated with them in any way. I just really like their layout.

Thanks. These are useful skills. I will file this link for future reference!
