The Story So Far

Hello everyone, welcome to my second ever blog on WA charting my progress to building a successful business.

After about 1 month I have arrived at Course 2 Lesson 2 which is adding content to my website. I have added 3 pages to my site and I just need to fluff them out a bit until I can write/acquire some proper content for them. There is a lot to be said for publishing your site as soon as you build it and add anything because you will get indexed by Google even if there isn’t much on your site.

I have learned a lot in the last month & can summarise it thus:

1.Choose a niche that has good traffic and low competition (it is worth spending time on this)

2.Research keywords (again spend time on this as it is essential).

3.Choose and buy a domain (Name cheap is one of the best) with a name that is relevant to your niche and point it to a host server (Wealthy Affiliate, HostGator, Godaddy or whichever you prefer, Wealthy Affiliate is free with a premium subscription).

4.Load up Word Press and choose a theme that suits your niche, but more importantly, one that you are comfortable with.

5.Create an “About Me” page & a “Privacy Policy” page, this will give authenticity to your website, then add some niche relevant pages and give them content, it doesn’t matter what at this stage; it helps the Google crawlers see something, which helps with indexing.

This is fundamental stuff that a lot of WA members will already know; writing about it helps me to etch it into my memory so that when I build my next website (I have ideas for this already!) it will be an automatic process.
