Out On The Edge
IN THE BEGINNING
I was looking for a way to create a revenue stream from the Internet. I had no idea how to do it. I began searching through website after website that promised fast cash or wealth beyond limits or earn a full time income with a part-time job through marketing online. Well, like most of you al, and perhaps everyone else dipping into this realm, I fell victim to scam after scam. I purchased things that made big promises and received little or no results or help. It was a frustrating and futile exercise.
ENTER WEALTHY AFFILIATE
I was nearly fed up and ready to give up my dream to successfully enter this arena. It was becoming very clear that there was no organization or person who legitimately wanted to share the kind of in-depth knowledge to get started in this type of enterprise. I realized that I would need to go back to school and take computer classes and marketing classes and all manner of curriculum just to figure out the secrets to dong this thing called online marketing. I was neither motivated nor financially capable of doing that. It was a complete BUST!
One day, I got another email advertisement about this opportunity to do online marketing. I was so skeptical I nearly deleted it. But, one last chance, I thought I’d give it one last chance. So I opened it and followed the links that too to the WA website. FREE...It couldn’t be free??? I became very suspicious. Who gives training and support for FREE? Well, after about ten minutes I discovered that I had found the right place to begin my journey. Right here in WA are some of the most knowledgeable and successful folks in the business. Smart folks willing to provide real time value added support surrounded me. I instantly jumped in. I've been engaged every day since joining. My Passion and My topic “NICHE” concerns hiking and my first website is “mywildernessjourney.com”.
IT'S NOT FREE
Ok, so I finished the Starter training in about three days. Suddenly I figured out that I was going to have to crack open my wallet. Here it comes, I thought. The big squeeze for zillions of dollars. Oh no I thought, I've been captured. Not So. I could have stayed at the starter entry level and cultivated my first entry as they advised was possible. But, the real value would be in going Premium. So, I decided to go for it. It was not zillions and it was actually very reasonable. I spent the money, got into Premium and am now just completing the last training in Level two.
There is so much to learn, I could hardly swallow it all. People were talking about SEO's, rankings, indexing, content, monetizing sites and so forth. I was really drinking out of a fire hose. I suspect al of us "newbies" experience similar concerns. But, I am committed to going forward.
WHAT I LIKE AND WHAT I DON'T LIKE
Simply stated, so as not to belabor the points or bore you al, Here they are:
1- I like the format for the raining...a lot!
2-I like the support that is readily available...a lot!
3-I like that there are examples and posts, and blogs about al manner of issues that concern me and I can't learn from beyond the context of the basic training itself.
4- I like that there was No Bull when it comes to getting answers and help. If Kyle does not reply, someone from the community does. Everyone I have encountered has been more than kind, patient and willing to step up and help.
5- I don't like the "gaps" in training that lead to frustrating questions. I feel like I'm asking questions that a thousand others have already asked. I hate to annoy people.
6- I don't like that the video series that shows Kyle's WA pages does not look at all like the one I am using. Perhaps his is updated for a more recent version I don't know but my site manager doesn’t look anything like his. He has tools on his I don't have. Some content of training may be outdated with respect to what a student will see when he or she tries to follow the specific steps to achieve something.
7- I don't like that moving in and out of the Comments section drops the original posting window. What I mean is, if I go to provide a comment and have to leave the comment section for a second to get some information to add to my comment, when I return to the Comment section...it's GONE! I wasted all that time to provide a valuable comment and it's GONE. That is very frustrating.
8- I like that the tech support folks really do respond with relevant advice and help when you need it. They have saved me a few times already.
WHERE AM I
I'm not on the edge any longer. I am fully immersed in this program and very excited to get my work recognized by all of you folks and the external folks who may hopefully someday find my site on the World Wide Web. I don't yet have a full grasp of all the tricks of the trade and I am still stomping along to understand how all the content publishing brings traffic and ranking and indexing and all of that. But… I have been continually encouraged to keep moving through the training. I am. I believe it will all come together down range and I hope I will be successful. After all, being 65 years old and unemployed, trying to support a family, I really need a solution and I hope this one will be it. As I said, I've completed level 2 in the Premium training and moving forward.
MY ADVICE TO NEWCOMERS LIKE MYSELF
Study the starter training very thoroughly. Follow the training there exactly in order as presented. Write down your thoughts and questions. Review lessons before moving on. Ask the questions that your have written down and save the answers you get from several sources who will reply. When you decide on a Niche (that means a topic area your are "passionate about"), do some initial research on the Internet to discover what other folks may be publishing. That will help you narrow your topic area. When you are ready, publish your first Website and then make the decision to take the Premium training. It s a small investment for a very big return and you will be grateful you did. By all means....don't get bogged down with frustration or the speed at which the training is coming at you. Take your time, study and learn. The outcome will reveal itself quickly and you will be off and running into a whole new experience. OBTW.. Did I mention this is also a lot of fun! We are all at different distances from the edge. You have also discovered by now this is a solution for income to assist your family, but not as quick as the scammers state it is.
As a person who has been involved in many networking and entrepreneurial programs, it's a process of which success is determined by so many factors, it is advised to have other income coming in while building the business.
Avoid the shiny object syndrome and keep moving forward following the training and you will succeed.
Your website looks very good, and soon you will learn how to monetize it.
Your niche and your writing are very good, and personable which will benefit you. Continue to learn from those here who have succeeded

Welcome, I see you just joined Premium in April. Congrats on your progress so far. You have a wonderful writing style.
Being new you may not realize that you are not supposed to place your website address here. (When you do it’s considered SPAM) and you can be banned from posting.
There is a place to add your site address in the profile section.
