Learn to surf when the waves come crashing

I am a believer that you never get more than you can manage, or that you never say I can't.

I am a divorced mom with four kids, a medical doctor and alone in a foreign country, away from my mother and oter family members. My kids are my priority, I try daily to provide them with a 'normal' life a 'good' life. I try to prevent them from feeling zny of the pain, fear, sadness and dispear that I encounter daily. Every blow I get, emotional, financial, professional i mask with a smile, with indulgence in helping others, my children, my pstients and my friends. I have found that the more I give of myself to others, the less of myself I have to deal with. I genuinely have a passion for helping people, saving people, caring and being compassionate; I often wonder if they can see it in my eyes or hear it in my voice that I am drowning but being their lifeguard, I am dying inside but comforting them, I am deeply broken but trying to make sure they are fine and happy.

My journey is one that is unchartered, I wander through the darkest places and somehow, i hide this, will there be a life guard for me? A hug, compassion, care? Do I want to be vulnerable to accept any of this?

The waves are crashing in, I am trying to surf and at the same time, I am wllingly and happily helping others, will I drown?

Drown, I don't think so, remove the thought. Your lifeguard is standing with you here, for now, paddle out the training wave, and start to learn what is required from there, not at the 40 footers!

You need to balance... surf the wave
And in the beginning it comes wIth crashes
Keep trying...

Bad waves can not be surfed
Avoid them

Be patient for the right one

You sound like a good soul to me. I'm similar to you in taking care of everyone around me. It does mask what goes on inside of you but you won't drown because we always find a way to carry on.
I once decided I would give up on trying to find the right one for me, and was single for a very long time and no way was I going to get with someone again because I had been hurt badly and I had pretty much given in.

This is when the universe decided to jump in and I met my wife and my whole life changed. So don't despair and lose hope the universe has plans for all of us

Peter.

You won't drown because you are so caught up in helping others that you do not have the time to drown. People like you are rare and are needed to help others. Hang in there and I'm sure God will send someone along, a life guard for you too...

All the best!
