Two month progress
Two months after joning WA I have started 4 sites - it's addictive! One site is fairly well fleshed out with pages, and I'm adding blog posts as news updates.
I've also revamped an old site sitting on wordpress.com, using the tools learned on WA, and started adding affiliate products to that, too. The ultimate aim is to bring it over as a wordpress.org site on here. I've just spent the afternoon going through old pages and posts and inserting cross links. That generated around 60 pingbacks that I've deleted, and am interested to see how this exercise affects my google ranking and visitor numbers going forward. At present I'm getting around 100 visitors a day, with no internal links. I'll give it a month then report back!
Exciting news on the Amazon affiliates front, too - my first WA site-generated multiple sale! Not from products I reviewed, of course, but from someone hopping over and buying 6 competitor (cheap and nasty) products that I deliberately avoided mentioning. Funny world!
Well Google didn't like my inernal links it seems. Soon after I added all the links on around the 7th April, I had a sudden drop in visitations! All that work for nothing. Cripes.

Thanks Brian. I really like your site. Clean looking and the images that are black/white apart from the coloured iris are gorgeous. Hmm names. I approved your comment but wanted your website to appear by your comment and yet it didn't. Did you want your site address to appear and if so how do you make it appear?
myhealthyeyes is taken already in the .com. I could go for an org or net, or someone else suggested healthyeyesblog.com
I like calling it a blog, I want to keep it conversational, so that even though I may know much more than the audience we are in it together. So I think the word blog may even help it. What do you think?
The other options are thehealthyeyes.com or healthyeyescare.com
To show website I think you have to edit my comment and add it in manually. A dot com name seems essential otherwise you will always appear below the equivalent dot com name in google pecking order, as I understand it. If you're happy with blog in the name, that's fine - it's important to have somethign that resonates with you. And. healthyeyescare could read healthy eye scare so not a good choice! How do you plan to monetise your site - by reviewing reading glasses and the like? Best of luck and stay in touch. Sarah B
Eye Scare - good point - didn't see that! I am not sure yet exactly how I will monetise, definitely supplements with regards to AMD, antiallergy and allergy prevention products, sunglasses, maybe low vision products, still lots of things buzzing around in my mind.
