The Importance of Tagging Brands on Social Media
We know all about tagging with keywords in our website posts but there's another type of tagging out there. Tagging the brand account on social media. Today I got a nice demonstration of how this is important. Let me tell you about it.
I do review sites. One of these is for allergy-friendly foods, where I write about products I use every day. It's a baby site with only three reviews on it so far as I build my knowledge of Wordpress and get into more affiliate programs besides Amazon.
I made a post about these bars that routinely save my Grade-Schooler's packed lunches. The lesson I wrote it with was the Twitter portion of level 4 in training here. So I went to my website's brand new Twitter account with the hashtag #Tuesdayhoughts and wrote two sentences, then pasted my link.
Almost as an afterthought, I went back and typed "@" in front of the company name. Sure enough, they had a presence on Twitter. I clicked to confirm I wanted to use it in my tweet and then hit "send."
Hours later, I come back to a comment by the brand's Twitter accound and retweets all over the place. I even got a handful of new followers!
You can do this tagging thing on all the social media sites, too. Try it, you'll be pleasantly surprised with the results.
