Time Management and Doubt

Almost 3 months in WA

Almost the 3 month mark for me, so reckon it is time for another blog. Actually, truth be told, I am inspired to write a blog after reading the blog by Desmond (AKA despatis) - "We are here to help" ...nicely done Desmond.

Been busy building my two websites since I started here January 4th this year:

....still waiting for Google to take notice but that's ok, I'm patient. Just keep working on my sites, writing content and building them out - it is a marathon, not a sprint.

Bought another domain

Just keeping that one up my sleeve for when I get a bit more time to spare and do the affiliate bootcamp. That domain is http://mywayout.com - haven't even started on that website yet, which will of course be called "My WAy out". Hanging off till I have got more of a story to tell, early days.

Anyway, I digress from my blog title which relates to the two cornerstones or principles if you like, that I apply to my endeavours within WA.

Time Management

I read a book called "Financial Independence" by Eddie Solomon many, many years ago. Eddie has in there his 10 rules of success (all excellent rules by the way). Anyway, rule number 7 - Time management. If you want to be successful you have to eliminate the time wasters. A short list (Eddie has a longer list) might include such as watching TV, playing video games, going to the pub, taking too much interest in sport, aimlessly surfing the web, too much time in pointless conversations on social media, texting (gossip).

Work out your own list of time wasters

Some of the time you spend adds value to your life: family time, a regular job (you have to pay the bills and eat). Work out what time you spend is important, and what are your time wasters. I don't watch TV much any more - just the rare occasional relaxation break.

A quote out of Eddie's book:
"A Nobel prize winner and inventor of over 1,000 inventions, when asked how he was able to get so much done. He replied: "I spend 18 hours a day doing just one thing while others spend their times doing a number of unrelated things, this is why my work is bound to amount to something".

Time Management - think you can make more progress with your efforts in WA and building out your website(s) if you were to eliminate the "Junk Food" of your time?

Doubt - more specifically, dealing with it

The second principle of my blog (as you will see - none of it my own ideas), just my choice to apply ideas of others that I think have merit. You can be sure - I am one who choses to "ride on the shoulders of giants" for my own advancement.

The principle I am about to share came from a true giant in my opinion. By chance or providence, I happened upon this wisdom at an early stage after undertaking my WA adventure. A gift to me as it were, timely given when I could use it, and I have had more occasions to use it since.

No analysis, critique or interpretation

I will not seek to bask in the glory of such wisdom, in a vain attempt to sequester for myself some credit by alloying it with my own interpretations, critique or analysis. I will give it to you as I found it and make of it what you will:

.....Go Forward With Courage.....

When you are in doubt, be still, and wait:
When doubt no longer exists for you then go forward with courage.
So long as mists envelope you, be still:
Be still until the sunlight pours through and dispels the mists - As it surely will.
Then act with courage.
- Ponca Chief White Eagle

Cheers and bye for now WAers ........Andrew

(btw - Bill Shakespeare that was) ....take care.
Andrew

Thank you for following me.

If you really need something done ask someone that doesn't have time to do it, they are time managers or they couldn't get everything else done, so they know how to squeeze one more thing in. you must be one of these people.

Just a plodder Randy ...one foot in front of the other ...I have heard that said though - if you want something done, give it to a busy man.

Love your your post. I do not have to report much on my progress yet, but one thing i learn that time management is very important. thank you for your blog it is inspiration

Hi, Andrew. I agree with Strap. Inspirational indeed. I find myself having problems with time management but am getting better at it slowly. Thanks!

You are right Jean ...we need the discipline, but sometimes when you are full steam ahead you can hit a plateau and feel a bit flat, or like you are banging your head against a brick wall ...that is when I step back and listen to my good friend White Eagle.

Some great inspiration here, especially the quote from White Eagle. Thanks for sharing

Cheers Strap ...it is a great quote
