I don't want a web site not being publish anymore but I don't want to delete it.

Use QuickEdit to convert each post and page into a Draft instead of Published. And go to Settings > Reading and check the box to discourage search engines.

There's also a plugin that you can use the turn your site into Maintenance mode so that visitors see a "Coming Soon" page while you work on the back end.

Hi there,

You could simply create and insert an index.html page into your root folder. You will need FTP access or file manager access to do so, but that would be quick and painless.

Cheers,

Martin.

Sorry Marion,

My finger trouble, that was meant to be a reply to the questionner..!

Apologies,

Martin

Thanks MarionBlack. What is the name of the plugin?

There are several, Denis. Go to Plugins > Add New and search for "maintenance" or "coming soon". Always look for popular plugins that have been updated recently.

Yes there is one recommended named "maintenance" you install it and simply put it on
Thanks

I would like to register a web site with domaine name "MU, but it does't look I can do it here.

Wealthy Affiliate isn't probably a reseller of the MU TLD (Top Level Domain), nope. You'll need to google for "buy .mu tld domain name" to find another registrar (domain name accredited reseller) to do it. :)

Maybe check with Tech Support anyway.

good idea

Have you checked the availability of that domain extension in Site Domains?

Yes does't work
Thanks just wanted to be sure.

.MU does not seem to be supported anywhere.
I recommend .com

I tried but it was already taken and anyway I need it to be .mu for the use I want to do.
Sure it's supported somewhere but since I am already paying here just wanted to take advantage of it.

The topic of my web site required me to have some pages with several images (steps by steps style..) and I have hard time to align them properly when I have many of them in a r

Thanks' again Marion
I just played with gallery and it changed my life.
Still, I feel ridiculous not to see it before.

Thanks all
I think the option to create gallery will do the job.
Too simple for me to see it.

I wouldn't use a plugin to do that. This can be done with the help of WordPress' editor. Yeah, check Marion's tutorials.

I really love your training Marion. You helped me a lot with them in the past. Thank you so much.

Your training are great.

Marion is the best. You can't go wrong listening to her.

Well said my friend.

Thanks Marion
Will check that.

Try asking the ambassadors that are the top helpers by direct message. Im new and I can't help you solving that problem. Good luck

How can i set up a default font.
My default font is 12 but i would like all my text in 14.
Actually i need to set up it every time after writing.

Thanks all
will check for that tonight

You can either go to Appearance > Editor and edit the "style.css" file (or the "custom.css" file instead) or install a plugin. Read this great training on how to do it:

You don't say what theme you are using. Does your theme have a custom CSS option?

To do this by default across your website, you will need to change the CSS style sheet and it is recommended to do so in a child theme, otherwise the size12 font will revert each time your theme is updated.

But theme updates are not that often, so you might live with changing it back with each update. ~Jude

I installed last week WP Tao and today i saw there was 53072 failed logins
What does that mean?

FYI
I ask also WP Help Desk and here is answer:

"I've investigated this and the culprit was a botnet doing a brute force attack against the xml rpc login feature of your site. I've disabled xml rpc access and this attack will now be prevented. XML RPC is used by remote wordpress management software. This will not affect your normal login".

“We already have extra protective measures in place against your normal login from brute force attacks. Bots are not able to reach your usual login page due to our measures, so with xml rpc blocked you can rest easy.”

Thanks for good service.

At least someone found my site, that's a good thing. Is it?

DEnisO

Marion is correct. Someone or better yet some bots (computer programs) are trying to find a breach to get access to your backend. That's normal, that's why you need to follow the right security measures.

Marion Black is correct.
Thanks for the share.
Cheers, Tosh :)

It means that there have been 53,072 attempted attacks on your website. This is NORMAL. As around 27% of all websites are built on WordPress the naughty people (hackers) are trying to get into WordPress websites. The security system you have in place is keeping them out.
