Which Came First?
I was listening to a sports commentary on the weekend about the recent success of the Toronto Blue Jays baseball team turnaround and the commentator posed the question – which comes first – confidence or success. It immediately caught my attention, as I reflected upon my progress here at WA. It's a question that evokes many musings; the chicken or the egg being the prime example. Quite obviously, one gives rise to the other, but which one came first?
I've been doggedly struggling trying to progress online for about 5 years now. I was a member of Chris Farrell's group, pre-wordpress, and learned how to build websites using an html editor. Having a strong interest in metaphysics and quantum theory, I built a site using an editor - http://quantumquirks.com. I built that site, not necessarily to earn money online, but more specifically to master building a website and choosing a topic that interested me.
Since then I have built more than half a dozen sites on health related topics. Only a few of them have survived. Those few specifically deal with the benefits of cold laser technology. Therapeutic cold laser treatments benefited a friend of mine. This friend was virtually given a death sentence by his cardiologist who told him in 2011 that after numerous heart surgeries over a period of 35 years, there was nothing else that could be done for him and that he might as well “get his affairs in orderâ€Â. That friend celebrated his 79th birthday last month! You can, and possibly should, read about his story at http://lasertreatmentinfo.com/laser-heals-heart/ or http://heartattacklaser.com for the full story.
Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that prior to joining WA, I did know how to build sites. I even figured out how to rank sites (if they are local – http://newmarketlasercentre.com) but, try as I might, I could not build a site that could rank well enough to earn any income.
Then I decided ah-ha – an e-commerce store! I did that too. I managed to get approved by Drive Medical Design & Manufacturing – one of the world's largest medical product manufacturers, as an e-commerce provider and built http://healthonlinerx.com . Again I struggled to get traffic to that site, but without success.
I was frustrated because I had a lot of knowledge and experience but despite this I could not attract traffic. It was like having a jigsaw puzzle, without a picture on the box , and trying to put it together but not knowing if I had all the pieces. It was at this point that I made a decision to join WA in mid July, 2015.
After a short time I realized that this course, and the support community behind it had all the necessary ingredients for success. The course progresses well and is evenly paced. It is laid out in a manner that is easy to follow and excellent help is there when required. It explains why certain tasks are required and their importance in the big picture. In short, these “success†ingredients are building my “confidenceâ€Â. Here at WA I'm building http://electricmobilityscooter.org into an seo optimized affiliate site for my e-commerce store.
So to answer the question about Which Came First – confidence or success - I think the answer is neither. The key factors are really “determination and desireâ€Â. I've never given up trying. Confidence and success will come if you have desire and determination, and WA has reignited the passion I have to succeed in both of these endeavors.
