I was wondering how I would change the color of the font on my site. It is currently blue lettering which does not match the website and I can't figure out how to change it. I have
Kathy has given you a good answer. You can find the HEX code for your favorite shade of brown at http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_colorpicker.asp ~Marion
I installed your theme on my test site and am not sure if you've seen the extra options available. Go to Appearance then underneath you'll see theme options. http://screencast.com/t/3gNdVIdadwB
In the theme options under "general" you can change the overall colour scheme and the font type (but not the colour).
Also in the option is "other settings", this is where you can add code without going into the editor.
You can go here to find out what code you need or any other questions about the theme. http://www.tomastoman.cz/forums/topic/changing-fonts-size-and-color/
Kathy, thanks so much for that. I did change it to grey and it looks much better. Not the brown I wanted but for now it will do until I can maybe get a response on the code thing. I like the grey though it goes nicely with the design. Thanks again for the hep.
Donna
Hi Donna, some themes are easier to change than others, Go to dashboard - appearance - customize - this will open up a sidebar showing you which options you can change - if it has colours then open that - there will be a small arrow top right - then you might be able to change the colour for the post headings there - remember to save the changes at the top of sidebar. not all themes have this though so see what your find. your site is great by the way! :)
Hi Jayne, thanks for the reply. I was told I had to go and change the code for the lettering. The customize only changes the color of the background. I have spent some time trying to figure it out but I have come up with nothing. I don't really care for the blue lettering and was hoping to change it to a brown. Thank you for the compliment and I will keep looking to figure it out.

Just wondering how long you should put your energy into a site that isn't earning revenue before you give up on it?
Well I'd have to be sure (no matter how much time has passed) that I did everything I could to bring traffic and money. Not easy to be sure, but I guess there should be a time when you walk. It's okay to exercise your free will and try something else. Wish I could help but I don't know where you are stuck.
pisces, thanks for the reply. not stuck, just curious to know if there is a point when you should let it go and move on to something else. The goal is to produce an income from your business and when a business is not producing results no matter how hard you try there must be a point where you say enough. So far the answers have been to wait a year, so that is good advise, I have only been at it for 7 weeks, so I have a long way to...lol.
D
Wouldn't it be swell if money could "dribble" in to give you some encouragement? I signed up my first member, she just turned Premium and they tell me I have $8 to my credit -- almost enough for Dunkin Donut's -- but you see -- it encourages a person. Soon there will be another, and another, and then you know yes, I did everything right. Meanwhile, I didn't wait, I started my next website on Art here:
http://selftaughtartistgallery.com and I'm already getting interest.
pisces...yes it would be nice and I do believe I will get there, it's only been 7 weeks and not done the course yet. I have had 2 articles on page 1 for a brief time and a couple on page 2 so I feel that I am doing okay, for me it is the social media stuff that gets me and it's a huge effort for me to use them. I made my self a schedule so that I can at least make myself do a little each day....lol. Just at the end of course 4 now and still so much to learn. Not enough hours in the day when I am working to get it all done, but little bits at a time add up.
D
I have wasted thousands, as well as years, on the Internet. Believing and always hoping. It is discouraging when they all fail to come through after I gave it my all... but believe me Donnas88, you have in your hands now the "real deal"... just give it time and keep improving everything you do. These two young men WANT YOU TO SUCCEED.
Here's a big hug; now smile
awww, that is so kind of you and I'm smiling. I spent maybe a hundred bucks and maybe lost half of that to scams but as soon as the OTO came up the alarm bells rang and I would promptly ask for a refund, most of the time I got it back. Once I was working full time I just came back here because you know you are getting what you pay for and a whole lot more. I think I am a lifer here for sure.
Thanks for the hug and the advise.
Donna
Never give up, think of it this way. Every time you enter a store, sometimes you walk out without buying something. If I give you a coupon maybe you will next time. Hang in there.
antonio, thanks for the reply, I will not give up on my site and it's only been 7 weeks thus far and I am feeling good about it. I was just curious to know if there was a time that you should give up on the project and move on. I have received pretty much the same answer as I got from you. This is very good to know for future reference.

Don't give it away, Check your keywords. Do you use Jaaxy. Its a better key word finder.Maybe change your keywords or even a theme change. But save the old site first. Remember content is key. You need heaps of content to keep people interested and on your site.
Thanks Lindon11, I was just curious to know how long a person should keep at a site that was not doing anything. My current site has only been up for about 7 weeks so I'm thinking I'm good for a while and I really enjoy the process. Thanks for the tips.
D
pinkabella, thanks for the reply, I was just curious about it. If I am working on a site for months and it's going nowhere is there a point that you should give it up. So far the answer is to change things up and see how that goes. I am enjoying working on my current site and have learned a lot.
D
Don't give it all up too early. There is a learning curve to overcome. I'm still at it too. I'll be with you...
Hi Cathy, No, I am not going to give up but I was just curious if there was a point that you should, if there is no progress or the site just isn't doing anything. I will keep at my current site, I am really enjoying it and I know it takes a while for it to get going. I appreciate the reply and have gotten some good tips for future use.
D
Donna, I would concentrate on building out these two sites.
They have potential but lack content.

Hi Ken, I am just working on my zentangle site for now. I was getting a bit ahead of myself without finishing all the courses here and it was just a bit overwhelming trying to do three at once. Once I am done course 5, which I believe is the last I will then begin to work on the other 2 sites an build them out. Thanks so much for your reply
D
Have you done your keyword research, before you decided to build
out your website. Building websites takes time and energy to make.
It would not be wise to start building new sites everytime there is no payout for your website.
Doing your research is critical before you build your site. Also try
looking at your site analytics to see why you are not getting the results
that you are seeking.
fastracks, thank you for the reply, I am not giving up on my site as I just started it 7 weeks ago, I was just curious as to whether or not there is a point that you should give it up. I was told at least 3 months before you could see any income from your efforts. I am working hard at it and have been enjoying the process.
D
Some sites could take a year to generate income, depends how popular the niche is. I'd never give up personally, unless I was seriously unhappy with the content & how it was shaping up.
jaytech, thanks for your reply, I was just curious about it is all, not going to give it up but was just wondering if there is a point that you should and move on to something a bit more profitable. I love my site and how it is coming along so far and it's only been 7 weeks, so I feel it's doing pretty good so far, although I am not getting any traffic on it outside of WA or I don't think I am anyway.
D
thanks for the reply and wise words, I am always learning to make it better. I was just curious if there was a limit to what you put into it before you realize it's just not going to be profitable.
D
I would say at least a year because they say it takes about that long for everything to take place and get good solid rankings. And I wouldn't actually ever give up on a site because you can learn and study new ways to make it successful.
Thank you for your reply. This is a good thing to know, I was just curious about it and if you should give up the ghost if the site is not producing any results, when you could move on to something else.

I am wanting to add a contributor who will be writing all the content for a new site. Was wondering how I go about doing that.
Hello, I have a question, if I may: How did you handle the (martian) password issue? I mean, do the contributors have to stick to the weird password WP gives them?
You need to go into your wordpress admin .. go to users and select add new user... when the next screen comes fill in the details as requested and under Role... add them as a contributor!
If you are having a problem adding someone to the users, I would contact support and see if there is a reason you are getting an error message.
Hi Jean...I got it all sorted out. I had to add myself as a new user before I could add someone else, so it's all done. Thanks for your reply.
Donna
I would prefer the email method so I could do a proper review before putting the content on my website. I know this doesn't answer your question but that's my two cents. ~Marion
My 2 daughters are doing the content so I'm not concerned, if it was a stranger then yes it would be done email. They don't publish it until I go in and check it out and add my images and it's great for me to have them helping. Thanks for the reply Marion.
Donna
in the wp backend there is a spot for Users. You can add a new user there and there is an option for Contributor.
Hi Daniella, I tried that but it wouldn't accept it. It said error or something, maybe I wasn't filling it out right.
D
Hi Donna, glad you got it figured out. I'm sorry I couldn't help more. Still new myself. :)
Hey Daniel, no problem at all I appreciate the support. I accidentally figured it out..hahaha. Now we know.
cheers
Hey Jean,I have 2 new sites that are being built and I have writers for both of them so I wanted them to be able to add the content onto the site but not be able to publish it. So I am assuming that is a contributor. I want them to be able to log into WP themselves instead of them emailing me content all the time. So I was wondering how to add them so they can do that.

Just checked out the site and no blue lettering in sight!
Hi lindon11...yes I finally got it changed and it looks much better with the grey, goes with the theme. Thanks for checking it out. Have a great day.
