When I click on Index status it says that I have 42 indexed, yet when I click on site maps is show that I have 41 submitted and 28 indexed. Why the difference?

I want to put a widget on only one post. I don't want it in my sidebar and show on every page. Is that possible?
You just add your code to the text box editor of whatever page or post you want it in. Not where it says visual but text.

I have not been able to get much action on my website. How do I develop my niche so that I can build the site and get more visitors.

How far through the training are you? re you following it, and completing the tasks?
Visitors are the key to succeeding - but you've got to give them something they can't get elsewhere - so you're unique take/advice on your niche is key.
As long as you do the long tail keyword research, and keep adding content - you should be ok.
I read a post recently from someone who has over 50 posts on their site - only 2 of those posts are bringing visitors - but you can be sure that if there were only 2 posts on that persons site, they would not have many visitors who stayed for long.

I'm still trying to figure out Google Analytics. It can get very confusing.
Yes it can :) and it looks a lot of others have problems figuring it out too.
