Expanding my Site
Paying attention to how the world changes and making adjustments to your business is very important - and a lot of times it can show up in your own life.
I turned 65 this past January, and my partner and I are slowing down a bit. Many of our friends have moved away; the homeless shelter I used to bake for has taken on new management and didn't need me anymore; and frankly, we just don't eat as much as we used to. But we still like a treat now and then.
So I decided to create a new menu subset called "SmallBakes." I'm taking a lot of my recipes and cutting them down to smaller portions. It's led to a lot of new recommendations for my readers - smaller pan sets, smaller presentation plates, storage containers, etc. It's a whole new world of stuff to communicate, and it's kinda fun.
I've already been creating recipes for high-altitude (since I live in Denver, and also have a mountain home at about 9,000 ft.) But I wanted to create a truly distinct identity for this segment - hence the new logo.
We will see how it goes. But with so much of the population aging as I am, I'm thinking there is a demand for this information.

Hello, this is a very nice read. I wish great success with your new direction. It got me thinking though. I already have 27 posts and pages and I am wondering how much more I can handle since it is quite obvious we have to keep our posts updated. How many can I continue to maintain through time? This is something I ask myself every time I create a new post. MAC.
I always try to focus on "evergreen" posts - things that will never NOT be appropriate. It's fairly easy with cooking and baking. Not too bad with travel. But even so, you have to watch your ads, as businesses come in and out and you don't want to be advertising with a company that doesn't exist anymore.
I also coordinate with Google Analytics. I make sure the posts people are actually LOOKING at are the ones I pay attention to.
