Taking the Advice of Other Members - Don't Give Up!

Hello everyone,

I am entering my 3rd month here at WA and thought I would write a progress report. I would like to say that I have mastered my training thus far and have money rolling in. Unfortunately that is not the case, but I knew that it wouldn't be. I did not go into this thinking it was a "get-rich-quick" scheme. I am wise enough to know that anything worth having takes work and perseverance (unless you win the lottery). I plan to stick to that.

During my second month I remember reading a blog post from another member that said, "take breaks, reboot and have fun". I couldn't see it then but I can now. As I progress in the training I have hit some stumbling blocks. I am NOT a computer savvy individual. I have no idea about "code", HTML, RSS, AWS, Plug Ins, Tools, Settings, etc., etc., etc. It can be very overwhelming and time-consuming as well. As I try to navigate my way through the dashboard on my site, and how to add items to it, I have numerous other windows open on my screen trying to find help. I love writing content and doing the research for articles but I need to generate an income! I think Kyle's advice in regard to "goals" made a lot of sense. I find myself trying to do so many things in any given day and I end up accomplishing nothing. Goal setting has helped. I take some time for content, separate time for affiliate links and analytics and now I am branching out and trying to get a foothold in social media. Along with that, of course, there is a house to maintain, bills to be paid, groceries bought, animals tended to and supper to be cooked ( which I should be doing now). I know I will be moving much slower in my training and content in the next couple of weeks because I have the grandchildren coming to stay. That is time I cannot spend attached to my computer. We don't get to see them often so time with them is precious.

The point is this; It can get overwhelming. It can be frustrating, but don't lose sight of the end goal. Have fun, enjoy yourself, take a break if you need to and remember we are all here to help one another. Joining Wealthy Affiliate has been one of the best things I have done in a long time and I plan to forge ahead and become a pro at this! I would just like to thank all those members that have come to my rescue and everyone else for all the support. This is a wonderful family and I am lucky to be a part of it!

Wishing you all the best in your success and now I really must go and finish supper!

It's a wonderful post Dolly. Thank you for sharing

Great post, don't let the tech stuff bother you too much. Just post a question and someone will give you the answer.

For instance, I am a web developer. I am sure there are many others will similar skills and will be happy to help too.

We all went through the same learning process at some point. Now it is like second nature.

Enjoy your Sunday,

Les

Great and true post, Dolly! Enjoy those grandkids! I don't get to see my two Granddaughters as often as I would like!

Jeff

Thank you Dolly, this was just what I needed. Congratulations on your progress. ;)

Take it step by step, of course some want to learn as much as possible in as little time as possible which can be overwhelming.

Think about it like building blocks, you are building your business starting with the foundation first.
