Heading Back to Work After Furlough
On March 18th I was furloughed from my job at Hilton. Like millions of other Americans I have had to adjust to the changes we all faced. The first challenge was the kids being out of school. This was followed by issued with unemployment and the list goes on.
We all adjusted to the situation and we made it through the distance learning and luckily my wife was working from home so we had an income to live off of.
I tried to use this time to really get WA going and get our website to a point of getting clicks and comments and hoping for a google ranking one day. We haven't made any money yet and we are still a long way off from financial freedom from this but we are confident it will come.
We also bought a house during the pandemic which has been great. It has been roughly two weeks since we closed and have been working on getting the house in order. With all the changes over the last several weeks my perspective on life has changed.
I am excited to get back to work but not for the same reasons as before. Before the pandemic I went to work to be the best salesperson and make the most money. The idea of people complementing me all the time was great.
Now I want to take a different approach. I have never strayed away from helping people at work to be better but I never out any extreme emphasis on it. This time I will turn my focus to building up those around me.
This all ties in to what we are trying to do with our blog at WA. We are trying to help people be a better version of themselves in more than just health related topics. I plan to carry this over in to my workplace and continue to build a network of successful people around me both online and in person.
So even though I have mixed feelings about returning to sales for vacation packages tomorrow, I do feel like I am refreshed and ready for a new approach with an emphasis on helping others succeed too.
P.S- I refuse to allow my job slow me down from meeting my goals for W.A. You will continue to see new material from us weekly!
