Closing the Year by Remembering Simone
As we approach the end of the year, I find it fitting to take a moment to remember and honor someone who left an indelible mark on this community: Simone.
Earlier this year, in February, Simone passed away, and I did not want to let this year slip by without sharing her story with those who knew her or were touched by her presence here.
In the short time Simone spent on this platform, she made an extraordinary impact. She had a remarkable zest for life and a passion for helping others. Simone was a mother to six children—yes, six!
She also worked as a dedicated nurse in her community. Balancing these roles while actively participating in the Wealthy Affiliate community showcased her incredible resilience and drive. Nothing was too great a challenge for her to take on; Simone was truly a force to be reckoned with.
One of the most unforgettable moments during her time here was when she faced an unexpected suspension from the platform. For anyone who knew Simone, you’ll remember that she wasn’t one to back down without a fight. Determined to regain access, she reached out to me for support.
Once she was back on, she didn’t just let it pass quietly—she blogged about the ordeal. That post created a significant buzz, sparking conversations for days and gaining her a considerable following. Her persistence and tenacity shone through in everything she did.
Despite the challenges life threw at her, Simone’s love for Wealthy Affiliate never wavered. Even as her health declined due to Motor Neurone Disease, her connection to this platform remained strong. Unknown to me at the time, one of her final wishes was to maintain her WA membership. Although she could no longer participate actively due to mobility issues, WA gave her a sense of purpose and connection that sustained her for as long as possible.
Simone’s story is a powerful reminder of the human connections we build here. Beyond the training, the blogs, and the businesses we create, it’s the people—their struggles, triumphs, and shared moments—that truly define this community. Simone exemplified the spirit of Wealthy Affiliate: perseverance, passion, and an unwavering commitment to growth and connection.
As we close this year, let us remember Simone’s legacy and the light she brought to those around her.
May her story inspire us to face challenges with courage, to help one another with kindness, and to cherish the communities that uplift us.
Rest in peace, Simone. You are deeply missed.

Hi Melanie!
Thank you for the wonderful tribute to Simone! Indeed, she was an awesome woman.
I did not know that she has passed. She did write about her diagnosis. I am so sorry to hear about her passing. She will be missed by those who knew her here at WA.
May you rest in peace Simone! My prayers and thoughts go out to her family and friends as they mourn her loss.
Wishing you the very best!
Kind regards,
Nichola

Good morning Melanie,
Thank you for the update on Simone, I guessed that something had happened as I was in email contact with Simone, and I hadn't heard anything since January 24.
Simone was exceptionally active on the platform and I know that many of us, including myself, enjoyed communicating with her as she was a great encourager. I was amazed at how busy she was and how she was up early in the morning working on her website and other duties, etc.
I'm thankful that she had a very strong Christian faith, which helped her greatly, knowing that death has lost its sting.
Once again, thank you for sharing the news about Simone.
Wishing you all the best and a great 2025.
Roy
You're very welcome Roy, thank you for your comforting words and well wishes.
So glad we all got to experience someone like her, a "Mother Theresa" in many ways.
Blessings!
Mel B
Thank you, Mel. I will remember Simone for her hard work and strong faith, something that she never let go of.
Although I had never met Simone in the flesh, I think that "Mother Theresa" is a very good description of Simone.
Wishing you all the best for 2025.
Roy
Thanks for your input Roy.
Yes, Simone is unforgettable.
Best wishes in the coming years.
Cheers.

It's a pleasure, Mel!
I would often chat with Simone first thing in the morning, as we both liked being up early.
Have you personally met Simone, or did you meet on the Wealthy Affiliate platform?
All the best for 2025.
Roy
Yes, Simone was early to rise, and late to bed.
Don't know how she did it.
Yes, we met.
I used to joke sometimes at how quickly Simone would reply to one of my comments! No sooner had I made a comment on one of our blog posts and Simone would reply almost instantly!
Simone certainly worked very hard.
That's great that you were able to meet Mel, as I believe you are in Canada and Simone lived up north in the UK. I'm sure that you have wonderful memories.
A very happy Friday to you.
Roy
