Google SiteSpeed... Just made you my .....Well, it took many hours to do it all but my site is now running all in the 90's, Desktop and Mobile. Even though I accomplished all this, the only thing I learn was how to do the image optimizing. All the other stuff I have not the faintest idea what I did. That's one thing I really wish was taught early on in the lessons was code. Everything Google recommends is in one way or another involves code. My code skills allow me to make a title and bold it, that's it, so how come we have not learned any code in the lessons? My coding is so bad I had problems even building a website so I researched and came across a page builder that involves zero coding and I love it! I have to be the Godfather of Drag'n'Drop...go ahead kiss my mouse hand...just not my clicking finger, that's my bread and butter there...have to protect that at all cost!
Is anyone else having any issues or having a hard time fulfilling Googles recommendations to speeding up their sites or am I the only noob who really is a techie boob?

Great work!! Took me 6 hours to get all mine to 90+ across all responsiveness, but I guess 20+ pages and at very least an image every paragraph. I also discovered that manufacturers like to send you the biggest possible images that are not the least bit optimized...wonder why that is?
That is interesting. I used Amazon almost exclusively until last week. I guess their images aren't too bad then.
Good job! I got lucky all but one page was above 85. I had one 83 on the mobile side. I need to optimize some pics.
Coding is not for everyone. Teaching CSS would probably be okay, HTML or Java would probably get many people in trouble. Get one little thing out of place and your whole site stops working.
There are many very good books out there to teach yourself. Just a thought.
I have been putting my time in at codeacademy but if coding wasn't hard enough with my learning disability codeacademy have the best teaching technique, nothing like the WA anyways but the content needed is all there but it's so hard to remember. I understand the placements but it's the actual commands and the actual short coding rules, can be used here but not there except on a Tuesday but not if your wearing white socks or at least on your left foot unless it has individual toes....WTF?!?! Where's my Elementor page builder, I can at least make sense of that. I also find you need a mindset for coding. I have always looked for the logical path in life, coding is always the same path with the same steps regardless if it makes sense or not, too much unnecessary work for me.
I say the same thing to my wife about English grammar. Programming isn't really that hard, but you do need to learn the rules. And unless you do coding all the time you have to constantly be looking up what the different commands do and how to enter them correctly.
I haven't done any coding in the last three years, but the longer I do this the more I am going to need to pull out my books and get up to speed again.
Do you have anything specific in mind that you would like to know how to do? If it is not to complicated. I might be able to put some training together.

I had just taken my meds and finished watching a classic Van Dam movie, Time Cop...along with the lack of sleep I have had, this msg really messed with my head. I was like. "WTF?!? How did he know? Did I really go back in time and end up in the 90's? Am I going crazy?...OOOOoooo, SiteSpeed DUH!" lol Lack of sleep will mess with you lol
LOL, too funny.' The 90's were so good, that you just go back and visit them if you can. You can't be a Van Damme movie either, those were my favourites growing up.

"Digress"? in my writing style I know of no such word lol as bad as he has gotten since the 90's I have found a great "B" movie he did with Scott Adkins that was great but I forget the name something to do with assassins and the Kickboxer remake wasn't all that bad but Van Dam's face looks like a botox job gone bad mixed with old person underarm flab but the movie was good lol.
Thanks for the props on the scores I told everyone, I excel at everything do and that's only because I never give up, I just wish I had more of a clue and clear understanding of what is actually happening...was any of this digressing? lol
Hi Jair, except for 4 of them mine were over 90.
I fixed 2 with those 'above the fold' issues but the rest which is only 2 it's the logo banner and the banners on my sidebar. Actually, all of them had that listed.
As for the other weird stuff I have no clue but once I find out how to reduce the % of the banners I'm good. Won't bother with the rest.
What did you do to correct the above the fold line issues? It took me 6 hours to get all my pages back to the 90%+ but that's the joy of 18+ pages and an image every paragraph at very least. Did you do as Google said exactly or did you have to thumb your way through as well?

I added this one a little while ago and it's awesome! I feel bad you did all your images that way, I started to and thought there HAS to be an easier way..... I Found A Video To Help Us Optimize Our Images Quick And Easy You can still do this, I did it one by one to see what the difference was before and after and there was a difference.

Oh yah, my speeds are horrific. I've optimized all of my images according to the plugin I use and Site Speed tells me that I still have 3 more that need it.
The rest of the stuff... I'm clueless. But I've been told that even though it's telling us that stuff needs to be optimized that it's mostly at the server and there's nothing much that we can really do!
I dunno... frustrating, ey?
