New ideas vs. Overload

So, I would just like to put some things out there which are just a part of the coverage of my journey from a broke down nobody, to a successful tycoon in my own right!! As you know if you have read my first two posts, I am brand new to this world of Affiliate Marketing. I have only been hip to the game for about a month now! However, in that time I have been totally emersed in all the content related to Affiliate Marketing.

I have been watching YouTube video, after YouTube video and have been flying off in every which direction! It is, at times a very exciting ride! And at other times it is like I am wading in an endless sea of information (which I literally am!) And totally at a loss as to which direction is the best! This is basically information overload, and it is fueled primarily by FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). I can feel it when I begin to spread myself too thin because then I start to feel like sisifuss; like I am running on a tread mill with the intent to get across town!

As we all know, fear can be a powerful motivator! In this case it has pushed me into the arms of information overload, causing me to wallow in this oversaturation. The point is that I am coming to the realisation that I need to step back and gain some focus. I think that information overload can be a good thing as long as it doesn't blow your curcuits! When brainstorming, it is always best if one is able to draw from, or tap into, as wide a range of knowledge or ideas as possible! If they can all be integrated and retained in ones awareness, then one will operate from a vantage of power derived from harnessing the leverage of the bigger picture!!

It is a tight rope act to saturate yourself but not oversaturate! One thing I am going to start doing is I am going to set aside a day where I have a scheduled timeframe during which I surf YouTube for new ideas. I'll take notes on the best ones I come across, and discard the rest. Then, at the end of the day, I will have a brainstorm session and see what I can come up with. At all other times I will strive to maintain a clear focus on whatever 2 or 3 projects which are the most important to me. Otherwise, I end up lost in YouTube land all day everyday!

Can someone please tell me if I am not the only one who gets lost in the sea of information called YouTube? The greatest invention of all time without a doubt!!!

The other thing I am going to start doing is making a list of all the different awesome websites that provide a very unique service which is very, very useful for all things related to Affiliate Marketing!! I have started doing so already; however the list is very scattered because I have these websites written down all over the place.

One last thing before I close out my 3rd post ever; if anyone is interested in some fantastic new ideas they should check out a vlogger on YouTube with the username iampauljames!!! This guy is an absolute genius!! I look forward to hearing some feedback from the community!

Best regards

Namaste

Thanks for sharing, and I can relate. I quickly get lost just on Wealthy Affiliate. With all the blog posts I read and commenting before I know it, I haven't done much of anything on my business.

Ultimately, it is all about time management, and it sounds like you are working on a plan.

Keep up the great work.
