What Does 'Merciful' Mean to You?

Do you know of someone who especially enjoys informal social gatherings or who is sensitive to the atmosphere of a get-together?

Or perhaps this person likes to listen to a speaker who is emotional rather than someone who is logical.

Have you ever run into a highly sympathetic person who tends to cry easily? The same person cries over a movie or over someone's story related to him or her.

What about a person who is very tactile, always touching others? This person reflects empathy, compassion, sympathy and is highly attentive while listening sincerely.

The people I've just described have the gift of mercy.

Anyone else who has this gift seems to have an antenna that picks up the emotional responses of other people. They long for harmony in their home. They go out of their way to soothe people who have faced problems or traumas in their lives.

Physical contact is highly valued in all of their relationships. They seem to be able to read the body language of other people very well.

There are some limitations, though, as with the other gifts. Being so caring sometimes makes it difficult to discipline or help others. Sometimes these people are too tolerant of situations that could hurt others. And they are often swayed and influenced easily.

But a child with such a parent knows that he or she is loved, understood, and accepted because his or her feelings are validated and accepted.

"Mercy" means to console or to succor one afflicted. There is a phrase that says, "He who does acts of mercy (does so) with genuine cheerfulness and joyful eagerness."

That's the true manifestation of this gift. It leaps from the heart. There's no resistance to showing mercy, They don't begrudge.

Sometimes people with a different gift wonder, "How can you keep doing what you do?" They can't do it by themselves. Mercy is a gift from Above.

And what do we do when we received a gift? "Rejoice." " Be thankful." "Use it wisely." "Share it with others."

  • What about you? Do you have a gift of mercy?
  • How do you show your merciful ways to others?
  • What effect does it have on you when you give mercy to others?
  • What effect does it have on you when you receive mercy from others?

Thank you so much my dear WA Family for your mercy in reading my blog post and I do really appreciate your merciful attitude towards me and my post

Please do leave your comments, likes, feedback, and your own experience about expressing mercy to others.

God bless all of you and may you continue to receive everlasting mercy.

I love you all dearly.

Elizabeth my friend,

Mercy is a nature and cultivate while we grow up but you can apply in the right way!

As in our culture we are prone to this mercy all the time, easily to get victims too, ha ha ha by friends, relatives but its up to you to use in a proper MERCY!

I got Mercy, sometimes too much mercy! For i believe the reason God give me grace for me to share and that's my downfall too!

I just become tough lately for i learn my lesson, as when you have mercy in your being sometimes its hard to say no more. The bad things also they take advantage of that!

Either way mercy or not mercy you are doom, well that's what i see!

Good one

Diosa

My dear Diosa,

As we know especially when it comes
to helping it has always been a question
as most of the time, it is being abused.

Yes, sometimes we have to use tough
love but I passed that guessing game
already.

Wisdom and discernment are always
in my company and so I am guided on
what to do in such situations.

Thank you, my dear and I am waiting
for you very soon. You know what I
mean.

I love you.

Mercy is a gift from God! It would be a better world if we all had mercy for each other and everybody gave mercy, some times I wonder what kind of a world do we live in? what kind of mercy are we displaying ourselves? always put others with needs first, look inside yourself, you already know if you are a Mercyful person or not.
Thank you, for sharing

There you are, Dorothy.

I miss you and I do know
that I will hear from you.

Yes, indeed, if this world
expresses mercy, we would
have been living in a most
wonderful planet on the
universe with love in our
hearts, peace in our minds
and help in our hands.

Thank you so much, Dorothy.

God bless you more.

Much love.

It was Mercy that brought me this far and I have always strive to show mercy to others no matter how small. I am a compassionate person and would always drop down tears watching emotional movies and my wife would Lough over it. Thanks Elizabeth and may God help us.

what you are saying as I am
just like that too.

I know you are a compassionate

on your writings and you have
a kind heart too.

Thank you so much, Godstrong

God like you.

Thank you for the blessings. When I am compassionate and loving to others I feel fulfilled, I get joy from seeing people happy, particularly the elderly and children.
I appreciate very much when someone is kind and compassionate to me. I feel valued and appreciated as a living human being.

It is our duty to be merciful and compassionate. The Lord instructs us to be so!

My dear Senanelo,

I could not have said it better
than that and it is not only a
way to fulfill our duty but to
follow and perform your own
purpose here on earth with
no judgment.

We are all here to share what
the Good Lord has endowed
us with and to be able to do
more than we think we should.

Thank you so much, Senanelo
and God bless you more and
more abundantly.

Good morning! Blessed week to you.

1

Hello there, Senanelo.

Good morning to you as well
and do have a lovely day.

Blessings,

Elizabeth

An interesting read Elizabeth.
I wouldn’t say that I was merciful. I will help others if my help isn’t abused, and I can be compassionate.
I don’t think that merciful and reading others emotions are the right words for me.
But thank goodness for those that are.
Take care
Bux
