How Do You Make People Feel Valuable?

Everybody wants to feel like they're somebody. As a matter of fact, people have been known to do almost anything, good and bad, in order to feel important. Since many have a poor self-image, low self-esteem, and lack of self-worth, this need is a big one.

Here is a vital thing to remember. The more valuable and special you make people feel, the more they will respond to you.

So how do you make people special? Here are some very simple and practical tips. Bear in mind that just because we almost always deal with people virally doesn't mean you cannot apply these tips in your own life.

These are acceptable offline as well as online.

1. Listen to them.
Sound simple, and it really is - if you care. If you're faking it, it's the hardest thing in the world. Put your thoughts about yourself away and tune in to what they're saying to you.

2. Use their names as often as possible. It's been said that the sweetest sound to someone's ear is the sound of their own name. I think it's true. It's the only sound that is uniquely their own. When you use it often, that means you are truly thinking about them, and that makes them feel valued.

3. Praise and acknowledge their accomplishments. It doesn't have to be something huge. Little things count too. Saying, "I drove by that garden of yours the other day - those are some great tomato plants you are growing," works fine. So does, "Good-looking tie you've got there. Looks great with that suit."

Noticing and acknowledging people for their individual uniqueness makes them feel special.

4. When they ask you a question, pause for a moment before you answer. This gives importance to their question because it means you are taking time to think about what they've said.

5. If someone is waiting to see you, be sure to acknowledge them. Don't ever ignore someone who is waiting. Even if you just make eye contact and let them know you'll be with them shortly, it makes them feel they matter to you.

6. When you are in a group, pay attention to individuals. Remember that a group is not really a group. It is individual people who need to be recognized and appreciated. When you speak to a group, look at individuals. Speak to them. Let them know you think they are important.

There you are my WA Family and hoping these normal and natural ways of making people feel valuable had sparked awareness so as we can have a more harmonious relationship with each other in unity and in peace.

Thank you so much to all of you and please do leave your comments, likes, and feedback and greatly appreciate you if you can share your important experiences with us relating to this blog post.

God bless you all my lovable WA Family.

I love you all dearly

Nice blog post! I am excited to start doing more of this too (I've done journaling & copywriting for my day job)! Once I'm further along in the training, I'd like to.....

Question......what are the advantages to blogging within the WA site? I'm liking the community environment, but just trying to understand how it really works & how we all benefit from each other along our various individual paths to success?....Thank you Elizabeth! :)

Hello Lori,

So wonderful to have you here with us.

Personally, you are able to share your
own expertise and thus through your
content you might be able to help more
members here according to what you
presented in your blog.

It also adds to your ranking leading to
being an Ambassador in WA as it is one
of the activities that will boost your rank.

There is no monetary benefit at all in
blogging here and mainly it is all up to
your intentions in writing your content.

It is a big accomplishment if it leads to
encouraging and helping the readers and
thus helps them in their journey here in
WA.

For the first three months, you are allowed
to post one blog a day and after that you
can have as many as you want.

I am sure you have a lot to offer and we
are so grateful for them.

Go for it.

Blessings.

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth, I believe that it is always important to make others feel as special as possible.

You have mentioned some great points here that we all would do well to adhere to when addressing friends and strangers alike.

I hope the start to your weekend is going well my friend!

Hello there, my friend, Nick,

Yes, nothing beats just being kind
and more attentive to the person
who is talking with you and with
your eyes fixed on theirs too.

Thank you so much and sending you
all the richest blessings starting right
now. :-)

Elizabeth

I totally agree with you there my dear Elizabeth!

It costs us absolutely nothing to be polite, kind and attentive to those we are addressing.

Your richest blessings are well received and much appreciated my friend, I am sending the same in your direction!:-)

Aww! I received them all
and I am enjoying them.

Thank you much more,
my friend.

Lovely blessings more
sending your way.

Do to the people what you want them to do for you. When we respect other people, we receive respect in return from them. Love to your brother what you love to yourself. When we have these values as a part of our mindset, then we can enjoy a smooth and easy life and successful relationships.
Thanks for sharing these great ideas Elizabeth.

Hello, there, Zouggar,

Awesome post my dear friend Elizabeth. Thank you for reminding us these things as we oftentimes taken for granted. Yes people by nature needs some acknowledgment, encouragement or acceptance. I love this quote by Dr Kevin Leman saying "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care".

Excellent, Praxides and that is
such a true statement that we
do sometimes forget.

Thank you so much more and
you are most welcome.

Have a blessed weekend.

Elizabeth
