Writing Reviews

There are a lot of review websites out there on the Internet. Most people, before they buy a product will do some research on the product they are interested in.
The simple and most common way people do this is thru a google search. They type in their product choice in search and the word reviews, which brings them to relevant pages about the chosen product.
There are several different ways to do product reviews. As a single product, as a comparison against a similar product, or as a group comparison with many similar products.
I prefer to do a single product review, and I'll tell you why. Most head to head or group comparisons I see don't give much more than general, generic information about the products. Especially group comparisons.

Group comparisons are often on its own one page site. Many times the site comes across as just another sales page. It lists the features and benefits, the pros and cons, and their recommendation of the best. Based on what, whatever product they are affiliated with or promoting.
Single product promotions let you focus on a single product, giving in-depth information on the features and benefits of the product. I don't specifically recommend the product, because I don't want to come off as promoting the product to get the sale. (But certainly, I do want the sale).
Instead I like to give detailed pertinent information about the product. Give actual customer review stats, a link to where they can find a good buy on it, and let the reviewer make their own decision.
I don't try to push the sale in any way. By doing this I am building trust with my visitor that I am honestly reviewing the product based solely on its features and benefits. It's a good chance they will follow my link to the product to find out more information or buy the product. ( I have potentially made the sale).
I can do this for any number of products, all on one site, and build trust as an authority as a review site. Todays customers aren't stupid. If you try to push people into a sale, often they will run the other direction. (Don't you hate pushy sales people).
I try to make sales by good information and let the visitor decide if it is right for them. Whether they buy or not, good chances they may return to my site in the future for other reviews.
