As the title says I am writing a recommendation for a product from one of my affiliate programs. Is it ok to copy product information from their site to use in my content?

What you should do is to write just a few words and then add a read more link to the blog on there website as this is OK

I do this quite a lot and b=never had a problem

Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the tip

Dianne

Happy to help

I would put it in your own words

Do you know if you are copying content from their site to your site, this is going to be viewed by Google as duplicate content (which is not good for rankings).

You can capture stacks and information about a product from their website, but I would not copy and paste to your website. I wouldn't recommend putting all the content you create on your websiteAnd within your reviews in your own words (that is, unique content).

Hi Kyle,

Thanks for your reply and tip. Will do, I will change before I publish.

Dianne

Yah, Kyle is right . You must put it into your own words. Googke lkes unique content

I was trying to publish a product review post and was told it wasn't 100% unique. How do I get back to my post and try to edit it so it passes? Or is it that important when you

Hello Dianne,
To get back to your post in WA platform, go to SiteRubix and select Site content.

Wait for that dashboard to completely download. Then all the articles you've ever posted will be displayed.

Click on the article you want to modify and start editing.

It is very important to have a unique content. One which comes from your own creation.

I hope this helps

Hi Laurine,

Thank you for your reply. I was trying to cancel my publishing in the pop up. There doesn't seem a way to do that to just get back to my post.

I was wondering if having a separate page for each review is better than just a post.

There is no much difference between posts and pages so no need to create pages as they do not have some features.

You can have categories and tags for pages with the help of a plugin, so it is doable. But if you plan to add them in the main menu as items, you should know that there is a limit for this, and this would be my main reason to say better use posts. In one site I reached the limit and had to change all pages to posts.

Hi Jovo,

Thanks for your reply and tips. I now think that posts might be the way to go.

Dianne

No, I'd recommend using posts for reviews, rather than pages. You can categorise and group posts, you can't with pages.

Hi Rich,

Thank you for your reply and the link. I think I will start with posts and go from there.

Dianne

No probs. you're most welcome! :)
