Choosing My Niche. Ugh!

So.. I've started 3 different niche sites, and have deleted them all :/

Talk about being indecisive! I keep looking up keywords, thinking about the possibilities, running with it for a day.. and then scrapping the whole thing.

That's not going to make me any money!! So, my goal for tomorrow is:

PICK IT AND STICK WITH IT!

Tonight, I'm going to do some more research on a few other ideas I've had, and by this time tomorrow night, I will have a new website with my main content pages ready to roll.

That's it.. there, I've said it..

Smack me if I don't have it done please! LOL

Hi it is hard to come up with niche ideas and then roll with them. I have four and thought I knew a lot about them and guess what I don't lol. I would give yourself time to really think about what you want your niche to be. Don't give yourself time restrictions take as much tie as you need. Toss a few ideas about here at WA I am sure there are plenty of people who will help you.

Thanks.. I've got started with one, but have already run into a glitch lol. It all sounded so easy.. yah.. not! :)

It does doesn't it you will get there just take your time

Hi Dianne,

It is not easy to come up with a great niche idea straight away. After all, we are human and have had so many different life experiences that greatly interest us along the way.

I think it is harder to find your ideal niche compared to writing and creating niche sites for others.

Take your time, do not pressurise yourself and the right niche will come your way. Research is important but it does not matter what other people are doing.

Your niche is you, it is your personality, your interest, your design and your creation.

You will get there :)

Lis.

Thank you so much for the support and words of wisdom Lis :)

You are welcome :)

Smack,... Smack,... Smack... I hope not. Keep on truckin'. Cheers... :)

LOL! Nope, it's not happening.. the smacks I mean :)

Good luck with it Dianne, you can do this.

Thanks Tom!!

Be prepared for a big smacking!

Ha!! Sooooo not happening :) LOL!

You can get it done

Thank You!

Have you seen this traning? Jay explains an approach that I like, and he takes the first 2 weeks to research niches and keywords before even starting a site.

Have not seen that Gary, Thank you for sharing!

I believe you will make a final decision tomorrow Dianne. Yes you can!

Decision has been made.. starting the site shortly :) Thanks for the encouragement Clyde!

Yeyyyyyy! I knew you could do it! YES YOU CAN AND YES YOU DID!

Dianne,

I am so sorry that this has been a frustrating experience so far. Just a quick word of advice if you don't mind. The name of you site,is unimportant, as long as it is a little catchy. The topic is a different story. I do not know why you scrapped previous ones, but I can tell you I was tempted to scrap mine. (fitness is the broad category, fitand50online.com the site name. I started doing some searches and found tons of site already with similar names and they all looked better than mine! Pictures of sexy middle aged people, and I am just a normal looking guy, And even when I do get that sculpted body I am not one to rip off the shirt and start flexing for pictures. No offense to anyone but that just seems stupid and vain to me. I widened my site a little to give me more leeway, I talk about physical fitness, mental fitness, financial fitness and spiritual fitness. Where the keyword research comes in is in my posts. In general, I make my posts about what I am interested in and passionate about, and I squeeze in the keywords that are going to get me some rankings.
Your site is you talking to people about what you are passionate about. Keyword research is important, but it should take a back seat to passion. Without the passion, you can have the best keywords in the world and you will come off flat. Stick with your passion, even if it means resurrecting one of the sites you scrapped. You kind of have to do a dance between being broad enough to get some leeway on keywords, while at the same time, being narrow enough to get and hold an audience,

All the best to you.

Jerry
fitand50online.com

Oh I will get there Jerry :) I've created enough websites for clients to know what I'm doing, but this will be my first niche site for me. I had already decided to definitely do something I at least have a healthy interest in.. so we'll see how this plays out today lol.

Thank you for taking the time to comment as you did. It's much appreciated!

Picture, oh - let's say 100,000 Wealthy Affiliate members, all waiting with baited breath for your every keystroke as you search for a niche, find a few initial keywords, and write that first post or page. That's 200,000 eyeballs, all looking over your shoulder.

No pressure though.

Dennis

LOL!!! Thanks for that hahaha!
