What Can We Quote on a WA blog?

I just tried to publish a blog post here but could not. I quoted one paragraph from a Slashdot-org article and WA would not let me publish it.

Here is a link if you're interested in this topic.

Sorry, I had to remove the link. Doesn't make sense. It wasn't posted to evoke anything controversial in comments or result in one of those super long threads.

Thank you for this information.

I posted yesterday a short list of plagiarism-detecting sites used to confirm human or AI-generated text. As an artist, I am glad to learn AI-generated illustrations will not be considered for copywriting. Google already considers AI-generated text as being against their policy and is able to detect the use of it on websites. I'm sure the ability will be improved over time.

AI is really shifting a lot away from original creation, though I do see its benefit in some circumstances such as medical reference, customer service, law enforcement, et.al.

Unfortunately I have to now remove the link, according to WA rules. So no more info here.

An interesting read, surprising as well given the legal status of corporations as people under the law.

I find it a shame that your post was nerfed, as it is definitely something that should be of interest to this community.

I wonder since it allowed you to post the link here if you could rewrite a post on it not quoting but paraphrasing this important ruling.

There is so much chatter here about using AI, in fact I just came here from someone asking about creating external links from Medium using AI (which I counseled against).

I think there will be a lot of upset authors unaware of this ruling who find they have no legal recourse.

I also believe there is cause for concern for legitimate authors whose work is mislabeled as AI, which I've also read of happening with some of the AI detection tools.

Great find, and appreciate your bringing it as best as you could to the communities attention.

Regards,

Jason

We need to avoid plagiarism and respect copyright when posting blogs online.

That is already a given. And it's not the topic I posted about.
