Writing Tips Revealed - part 6

Last Update: November 18, 2016

DEFINE YOUR AUDIENCE

Writing is communication. As a writer, you give off a signal that is received by the reader. So, be aware of this signal.

Such as different meanings of a text, there is also a difference in audience.

If you plan to write a story for toddlers it is obvious that you have to use a different tone than for adults.

If you write for people who are just interested, you have to do it in a different way than if you write for professionals.

Before you start, consider first the audience you're writing for and learn about their knowledge and expectations.

So there is a good chance that all you want to tell will be well received.

Thank you!

You just brought a thought to my mind , which I have NEVER EVEN had before.......

Are there websites which address children as an audience?

You're most welcome Therese, thanks for reading. There certainly are websites in which children are addressed as an audience, but please note that my tips in particular are meant for adults.

Have a great weekend,
Desmond
