To the rescue.

I don't know about you but I am always trying to rescue things that my neighbors throw out in the trash. I have really got some great things that my neighbors no longer wanted, lIke three tall, beautiful wrought iron counter chairs in near perfect condition. Three like new tool chests and other assorted odds and ends.

And a table that fell apart while I was transporting it to my garage and now I am re-building it. with super glue, and J-B Weld

For example, I have rescued and re built five airplanes here and in South Arica that were considered unworthy of re building after they had crashed. And seven or more boats

A few years ago, I almost cried when I saw a beautiful Seabee Airplane burnt up and completely destroyed on one episode of a 007 thriller movie. I think I was mad at Sean Connery for three days.

I can't stand to see boats and airplanes that need to be rescued and rebuilt. So, I buy the wrecks, lose a lot of money in the rebuild process but I fixed them and then we could use a boat to go fishing and water skiing and airplanes for mission work.

My mother could build and fix anything. My Dad could fix nothing but he was very intelligent school superintendent over14 schools.

As a pastor I have had the challenge and privilege of re building lives which is much harder to do than re building a boat or an airplane or a table and which takes more than super glue and J-B Weld. (God does the re building).

Reminds me of various things I've acquired from other people's trash over the decades.. I have an eye for baskets and for stainless steel dishes. I'm not so much of a fixer but I do have that eye for trash!

Somehow I knew you were a tinkerer! It is amazing what people throw away. One man's trash truly is another man's treasure.

Rescuing is noble. In certain circumstance, even heroic. Keep it up! In the end it does make a difference.

Seems that your mother passed on some good genes.

Thanks Wayne.

Ha ha ha I had to laugh when you said you were mad at Sean Connery for three days for blowing up the Seabee airplane.

But also recognize that you have a GOD given talent for fixing things.

All the best

Thanks Eric. Love your reply. Inherited it from my mom who got it from her dad, my grandfather, who was always inventing and building things, who got it from God.

You're most welcome. Amen all glory to GOD!

My husband likes to rescue items in our neighborhood too. Works out well sometimes.

I had to smile at this post.
My better half is always “rescuing” things that with “just a little work” can be used or sold for a profit. Since neither of those outcomes usually occur I think it’s called hoarding!

Thanks KyleAnn. Your reply made me laugh.

I'm sure the rebuilding in all aspects keeps you out of trouble.

Thanks Fran. You are so right.
