Make Sure Your Interest Is High

So Merry Christmas everybody. I have been around WA for 3 years now and haven't made a cent. Ha Ha LOL LMAO. Ok the last one's a bit crude I know. That being said I am not writing this short post to discourage anyone but to encourage you. When it comes to the internet and learning we all come from different backgrounds and different places in our lives.

In The Beginning It Was All Ideas

When I first joined WA it was because of Kyles' review website. I saw the value and jumped on board. I would love to be making money by now but Wealthy Affiliate is not to blame. Every year I am paying my annual subscription and so thankful for the Black Friday Deal because by the time currency is changed to Canadian it is a bit more. Nevertheless, I am so happy to make my investment.

In the beginning it is all ideas. I saw the possibilities and was encouraged about my future. Take note; "I still am". I figured I could get this started while on the job. I was a long-haul truck driver. And yes I took the picture. I call them my 55mph snapshots.

I quickly became aware that driving and learning was going to be a challenge for me. Working 15 hour days just doesn't leave you any time.

OK Buddy Get To The Point

Fast forwarding to today I just finished deleting two websites that were barely started and then just last night rebuilt the website I had just deleted. LOL. So what has been my problem. I have struggled with niche and being an authority.You see, it is not in my interest to be an authority on anything. It is just not my personality. By writing about

something I am interested in I may become an authority on getting fit in
my senior years but I am not seeking to be that.

Eureka, It's an Epiphany

Last night I believe I experienced an epiphany. Ya, one of those light bulb moments we all have once in a while and wishing we had a lot more of them. I received this epiphany/light bulb moment when researching a different theme. When reading the theme details, I noticed a lot of the designers were mentioning things like, "perfect for personal blogs or journals" My Lord, the light bulb went off and it was burning bright.

Make Sure of Your Interest

My website is about the journey of a senior male now in his 7th decade, which means I am now 70. Where has all the time gone? It is about my personal journey through my 7th decade striving to get fitter and healthier than I have ever been in my entire life. It is about my daily fitness action. It finally dawned on me that writing content about something I was highly interested in, and focused on, would be a no-brainer. I had tried writing content about other subjects and it was a struggle, which meant it was way too much like work. My son tells me, that if I document my personal journey, write about it, photograph it, video it and become a mentor and example for others in all age groups but more specifically in my age group then, corporations and other businesses will take notice and want to pay me to advertise their products. It will be interesting to see who and what I will attract to my website.

So in closing if you want to build a website it absolutely has to be something you are highly interested in if you are anything like yours truly. All the best to all of you.
