Oops.Amazon Affiliate Image Mistake Caution

Okay, I'm sure I am not the only beginner to make this mistake, so I am putting this out there as a word of caution to others. Be careful how you add Amazon Affiliate "Image" or "Text + Image" to your site. If you do it incorrectly, you can get in trouble with Amazon.

If you are anything like me, you play a little. Perhaps want to get to stuff before Kyle does in his lessons. The information I am writing here may be found in lesson beyond where I am at, but I guess that was too late for me. If you are going to add an image from Amazon, don't just copy it or as I did grab an image using something like a snipping or snagit. I normally would not do that, but was confused about how to use Amazon's "Image" and "Text + Image" in the Amazon Associates SiteStrip. Adding those to WordPress is not intuitive, while linking using "Text" is easy.

Another reason you want to use "Text + Image" the correct way is because it includes a price and updates it automatically. Well, I am a beginner and that is my understanding. Please comment and correct me if I am wrong.

Anyway, I am going to spend this morning putting images in the correct way before I get in trouble. Another WA member suggested I watch YouTube videos when I get stuck on things like this. I'm going to link the one I found last night that appeared the most helpful to me. If someone else has a training within WA or other info, I would love to hear your comments.

Update 2: After much frustration, my son finally figured out for me that my Amazon Image Links were not showing for us on Chrome becaue I have on an Ad blocker. <sigh> You have to love technology.
