When Life Gets in the way

"If you fail to prepare , you prepare to fail".

I'm sure you have heard this at least one time in your working life or even in your childhood? One thing for certain, a much as we plan and prepare, adhering to the 6 fundamental P's .........................................

Proper,

Prior,

Planning,

Prevents,

Poor,

Performance,

..........You can never prepare for the loss of a loved one, a breakdown in a relationship, ill health, and so on. So what do you do when the 'unexpected' presents itself, and causes disruption to your well thought out plans? As simple as it sounds, the answer is to learn to be adaptable and live our lives like the weather which is always 'subject to change'.

We cannot control the weather, nor do we have power over Death, I'm sorry if this post seems to be a bit heavy, but the reality is LIFE can be Heavy and difficult at times. But it's all about how we handle changes and respond to life. For we have 2 choices to 'react' or to 'respond'. One is an emotional driven act, and the other, takes some rational thought before choosing 'how' to act.

As I write this I think of the book 'Who Moved My Cheese', by Dr Spenser Johnson. This book ultimately is a tool used to illustrate the different types of people in a work environment, where a change has taken place, whether it be an organisational change, or a partnership, or even location, it demonstrates how different people react and respond to change. If you haven't yet read it , I strongly recommend that you do. Particularly if you are someone who tends to struggle with ANY changes in your life.

I write this as I have and am still learning to be adaptable to changes in my life, and allow myself to find new ways to do things. As a parent, as a daughter, teacher, business woman and so on, this life that we live is a long lesson, if at first we fail to learn the lesson which we are being taught, we may have to repeat the test until we pass with flying colours, then move on to the next.

remember that nothing stays the same forever,so whatever you're experiencing in your life right now, ask yourself 'What lesson do I need to learn here'? and be open the answer, with a willingness to learn.

We all go through life situations, which have the ability to break us, and guess what? Sometimes it's good for us to be broken, because at times when our back is against the wall, our higher self can then step up to the plate, out of adversity and lead us in the right direction.

Don't be afraid of change, it could be the best thing that ever happened to you in the end.

Much Love

Dee

No problem.

keep you chin up

Thank you for reading and the encouragement. Much appreciated.

Just remember the wise man said, what happens today is a repetition of what had happened before. That makes us think that nothing in this world is new to us. The only difference is when the uncertain time comes at the time we don not expect it but at least we know that that thing is certain to come.

Wise words indeed. Thank you for reading and sharing.

Hi, I like the construct of change and the importance it plays in our lives. Irv.

Yes, there are some of us who do like and embrace change and can adapt quickly. Thank you for reading.

Roll over it adapt to it but be sure to cope successfully!
