I'm currently deciding on a niche to build my first website, and want to know how popular/searched the topic is. Is there an easy way to check this?
Do search in google for google trends. It will give you a graph of the "trend" from year to year.. it will also give you keywords that are being searched..

There's a keyword search in the tools section here on the main page. It's not as good as Jaaxy, but it'll give you some on the niche you looking into.
